Filter Size?? by Paul
Hi, was wondering if someone could tell me if I did the right thing here. I built a Biofilter for my pond.It is 12X7X2. The one I built is 9gal. basically a square Rubbermaid box. The pump (1200gph) pumps into the "top" of box through an 18W UV light, then goes into filter through a 1 1/4"...

Those solar lit Lighthouses.... by Reel McKoi
I weakened and bought one today. It has a solar panel hidden in the top, at sundown a pretty glow comes on in the light area. The solar rechargeable battery is replaceable when needed. It's about 30" tall and quite realistic looking. I love it and set it by the smaller pond. :-)) -- McKoi.......

Herons by Tom Puskar
I was just outside and saw what I believe to be a heron in one of the trees overlooking my pond. I chased it away and then checked my ponds. Four fish are missing! I don't know how long this creature has been stalking my goldfish. I know yesterday there were 6 in my upper pond and now I can...

The koi & GF fry by Reel McKoi
Their rate of growth is phenomenal! They're eating every few hours. I'm now feeding them flakes, crumbled GF pellets, HBH soft-moist food and crumbled tubifex worm cubes. Any live food would be what would occur in these pools naturally. Each 150 gallon pool has an airstone going briskly now,...

Red eared southern slider :-))) by Reel McKoi
When I fed the fish this evening at sundown I saw a baby red-eared slider come swimming out of a bunch of elodea and snarf up some pellets!!! I've never seen one of these in my ponds before. Somehow it got through the net. It seemed more shy and fearful than the baby mud turtles I had...

Retro fit bottom drain by Wilmdale
Anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with the Tetra or any other vacuum bottom drain? Since I am going to do some replumbing anyway, I thought I might add a bottom drain. However, putting in a true bottom drain seems a little impractical right now as I would need to drain my pond to do it...

Keyoff current flow on 97 GMC by ~Roy~
I have a 97 GMC 1500 with factory radio / CD player. Today my battery died. Prior to this for some time now I head a noise which resembles a fan or blower running under the dash panel. So after fooling with thew alternator today, I started to lok for the noise. It was pulling current and made...

Aladdin no niche skimmer by nortyler
I am thinking of installing one of these skimmers and am wondering if they work well? I thought one of you may have one in your pond already. I am going to split the intake of a 3500 gph pump between a Tetra bottom vac and the skimmer. I am wondering if anyone has any easy method for anchoring...

Lotus by gene
My lotus was just eaten by a raccoon, and I really want to replace it. I'm in Chicago, it's probably too late, but I'm willing to try, if anyone has a reliable source that is still selling at this late date. Thanks.
