Just had a filter "kickstart" idea... Anyone tried Rid-X? by
Gareee©
The septic tank additive.. since it has bacteria and enzymes for them, it
might be a good internal additive for inside pond filters.
Has anyone tried this? Is it safe for waterlife?

Newbie question: Small filter for small pond? by
angel toledo
I plan on building a small waterfall in our front garden. By "small" I
mean very very tiny. The area I have to work with is about 5' by 5'. I'm
looking at a pump in the area of 100 gph. Pond size? Not sure yet. I'm
still doing research.
My question is what kind of filter is recommended for such a...

Watercress update by
CanadianCowboy
Holy Cow this stuff is already growing roots and getting colour. I only
threw three bunches in on Saturday. I stuffed some stems into the rocks
in the waterfall and they are growing already and the waterfall has
never looked better. If you want a cheap plant for your pond then this
is a start. ...

kc
Well, I thought I was so clever moving my waterfall to a better spot on my
pond, but imagine my surprise when I came home (with 2 new koi) to an almost
empty pond. Yes, I had not checked the placement of where the waterfall
was coming out well enough and it was dripping back behind the liner...

Lily in Natural Pond by
JJ
Can one just place a weight on a Hardy Lily rhizome and simply place it in
2-3 feet of water in a man made pond that has a dirt bottom? Will it take
root and continue to grow? There is a pond in our neighborhood that could
use some foliage and everyone agrees that water lilies would be nice....

already gorwing with lots of leaves, and looked really good. I noticed
it had what appeared to be foam rubber rolle d up around the lilly
root, to a size that...

New Laguna Pumps? by
Bill Stock
Has anyone tried the new Laguna pumps, with "foam free technology"? I could
not find the manual, but it looks like they have implemented their own plant
basket trick. I was considering going to a larger pump anyway, so I was
hoping this thing was actually lower maintenance?

Almost disaster by
Wilmdale
For some reason this morning I kept thinking the heron would visit my
pond. So finally I gave in to that nagging feeling, jumped out of bed,
went to the window and what did I find? 13 inches of water gone from my
pond!! =-O .
Yes, I was downstairs in a flash to see what was going on. ...

fogger/mister? by
kc
After a recent trip to a local pond store, I've become interested in buying
a "fogger" for my pond--they have a cute one with a cover ring that has
frogs on a lily pad leaf. Do those of you that have a fogger like it, and
will it impact my electric bill a lot?
