Early warmth in Chicago by Mike C
Two seventy degree days in a row here caused me to poke around my pond. All my Koi are active and lived. I had covered 98% of my pond with a pool cover (basically bubblewrap) and used a heater to keep it from freezing over with 2 airstones. I tested the water temp last night and it was over 60...

Another lily question by Tom Puskar
Courtesy of a pond expansion last fall, I have a preformed liner (about 100 gallons) that I'm thinking about using as a lily pond. I can put in direct sun and make it look nice. The lilies didn't do well in my pond since I think they didn't get enough sun--still won't if I put them back in the...

fish by Phyllis and Jim Hurley
Ross, You will get some flack about the pic. We aren't supposed to post them on the group. Your fish, however, seems to be a Koi. It has barbels as koi do. They will certainly outgrow the others! Think 2-3 feet long. Jim

I want to create an invisible edge on a new pond. I've worked out the flow rate over the edge etc & the pump size etc. And I've had a few ideas re the plumbing. Basically I'm thinking of a storage tank idea, but if I go on holiday & the pond level drops a little then I'm concerned about the storage...

Kill file again by pixi
The reason I sent the previous message was because my computer is once more doing the same thing and I cannot reset it this time. I know nothing about kill files and neither does my server support group.

unwinterizing hardy water plants by Stephen Henning
I took the plants off the bottom of the pond (18" deep) and put them on their marginal benches, which are about 5 inches below the surface of the water. Since this is my first experience doing this here are some of my surprises: The yellow iris had already grown over 2' tall and were sticking out...
