Kerplonk..flush ...and so on by
Larry
As soon as I see this;
"Newsgroups: alt.religion.jehovahs-witn,alt.abuse,rec.ponds,alt.free.newsservers,alt.usenet.stalker"
I flush everyone involved down the crapper. Now the posts I read are
about pond issues. The reason why I joined. Be happy and do the
same. Not as entertaining but what...

Baltimore, MD --- Anyone Turning Pumps Back On Yet? by
Benign Vanilla
I am getting tempted. We had a day of close to 70's yesterday. Of course
it's snowing today.
This past year, I have done nothing for leave protection, as an experiment,
so the pond is FULL of leaves. I was thinking of turning the pump on, and
getting the BD and VF to start doing some clean up, but...

Microb-Lift Spring/Summer Cleaner by
Benign Vanilla
I have been contemplating giving Microb-Lift a try this year, to help jump
start the pond, and clean up some muck. Anyone tried it?
Here's a link to it: http://ihmp.net/@/ayu

OT 'View' on Outlook Express filters messages nicely by
Phyllis and Jim Hurley
If you use Outlook Express and get bugged by certain posts on the newsgroup,
take a look at the 'view' option. You can tell it to 'hide' messages with
certain words in the subject line or from certain persons. Benefit: the
unwanted messages go away. Makes the NG more fun and you don't have...

article on giant veggie filter by

Article on using wetlands to reduce algae
in waterways.
Interesting in that they did not plant the wetland
but Mother Nature did, apparently.

I've seen solar powered water pumps/fountains
before but today's catalog has a solar powered
air pump to 'encouraging consistently clear
and clean water'. It is $59.50. The catalog
is SolutionsCatalog.com I guess it would be
dollars to donuts, a solar powered fountain
or air pump for the health of...

Q: String Algae - What to do? by
Phisherman
I can't recall the type, but there is a type of bale straw to put into
the pond that grows microorganisms that eat the algae. Actually algae
is a sign of a healthy pond, plus it oxygenates the water. You could
partly shade the pond or grow lilies. Other plants can compete with
the algae. We...

Mississippi pond waking up. by
Phyllis and Jim Hurley
Our Mississippi day temps are now consistently in the 60s or better. The
water in the pond is at about 50. Soon, it will be warm enough to feed the
koi.
Jim is replacing our pump. Waterfalls again, soon.
The Water Hyacinths that made it through the winter are jus starting to push
leaves. ...

Water Quality by
Peter Smith
I believe I have a serious water quality problem, and it is causing some of
my fish to die, 14 in the last few days: here is the problem:
I have a 3,500 gall pond, stocked with about 70 fish of varying sizes (3" to
26"). Almost all the fish are huddled at the bottom of the pond in one area,
and...

Transfering Koi by
PlainBill
I've been given some young koi by AZKalEl (Thanks, by the way), and
have a question about transfering them to the main pond. Currently
the koi are living in a tank where the water is about 72 degrees.
After keeping them in isolation for another couple of weeks, I'd like
to transfer them into the...
