Mail order merchants? And possible trade. by
Gary Woods
Anybody have particular preferences or strong dispreferences?
I've always found Lily ponds more reliable than many, though pricey. Last
year, it took a couple of go-rounds to get a lotus root that had viable
(any) growing points, and I was never able to get a name for the
replacement variety...

twirling again.... by
Oxymel of Squill
I'm sorry to keep droning on about this twirling fish of mine, but I'm
really mystified. To recap....
I found it swimming in a corkscrew manner, rotating about its axis as it
swam. Took advice from folk here and gave it a salt dunk
Returned it to pond, fish normal for 2 days, then started twirling...

rjadkins(remove)@aol.com
I have a black preformed 100 gallon plastic (?) pond. Is there any way
to change its color and still have it safe for fish? It is edged with
flagstone and I want it to tie in with the red color of the rock. I
assume painting it is out of the question. Has anyone had succes
changing the color of...

Cross-posting (OFF TOPIC) please remove rec.ponds & others! by
Reel McKoi
Can I suggest all those tempted to reply to Jabriol's hysterical
cross-posted garbage please REMOVE rec.ponds, free.newsservers and the
health NG. It's irrelevant to them and I'm sure annoying. This should be
kept in ARJ-W where it started. PLEASE, lets leave rec.ponds,

Fish, frogbit, and spillways by
Elaine T
And another question...
My water garden is 3 barrels, with homemade spillways from HDPE pipe.
They're about 2" deep and 2.5" across and steeply sloped. There will
be a lot of flow through the spillways because I need good filtration
for the shebunkins I really, really want to keep. I also have 5...

Lily questions by

I've realized that if I put lilies in my half-barrels, I'm going to want
night bloomers because I'm typically out during the day. However, the
only night blooming lilies I've ever seen are monsters in botanical
gardens with 2-3 foot pads. Some surfing and Google searching hasn't
turned up any...
