I have a 70 gallon preform in the ground. I am getting ready to add a 150? gallon preform that will empty into it. (Add eventually a waterfall behind that) I was given a Flotec FPOS2400A-08 (That 3rd digit is either a zero or an oh) It has 1/3 hp, a 20 foot tall fountain and runs about 3000gpm....

Who, What Where? Oh yea, Kitty litter by Webwarlock
OK, so after going all over hells half acre I finally found a place that sold just plain clay kitty litter. No fragrences, no addatives, no crystals, just plan ground clay. Ironicly, I found it at Farmer Jack. Anyway, now the question is how much and how do I apply it to the pond? Put it in the...

tubing by Rob
I can't quite figure out the tubing thing: many sites recommend the black spiral tubing, but in my mind, the ridges will inhibit water flow compared to smooth tubing. I need 1.25" tubing. Is the spiraling stuff really the best way to go? It seems expensive... Thanks in advance.

mystery of missing water solved by Larry
Taking the advice offered, I removed a few large rocks along one side of the waterfall to see if there were any leaks or cracks in the liner. You were all right. The loss of water could not possibly be due to just evaporation. Some water was taking a detour. So I just hope the guy honours...

WOULD THIS WORK AS A POND? by BC DEX
Has any one here made a pond out of live stock watering tanks? I know they have those rubber made ones that are very large and I don't think you would even need a liner. You could bury it or even set it on the ground and build around it. Just a thought.....What do you think? Dex

Question on planting aquatic plants by Roy
I live in the deep south (Centreal Alabama zone 9 IIRC) I have only ever seen ice around the edges of my pond one time and its about 20 years old. Our water lines are only buried 6 to 10 inches deep........so it shows how much serious freezing weather we get. Mostly it never gets belowmid 30's and...

upgrade to an external pump? by [email protected]
My pond is 10x12 about 2 1/2 feet average depth and kidney shaped I have been using a sump from Home Depot in conjunction with a biofilter with built in UV light. Seems to work ok, but I hate having to clean it by pulling it out of the pond and I fear it breaking and spilling oil all over. What...

How to use Barley straw by G & K Meyer
I got a bail of straw now I want to use it on my waterfall pond. Can I just put it in a bag like what you get oranges in? Should I pack it in really tight or kind of loose? I was thinking of putting it in the upper fall pond area does it make a difference where you place it? And how much should...

Peace Lillies doing well in our pond... by Gareee©
Just wanted to pass this along.. we got 3 peace lillies this year, around easter time. You rinse off the roots, and thenwrap them around a rock or something heavy, so they don't float. Put them in the pond so the leaves stick out, and you should get blooms within a few months. I was told this,...

Well my first pond hasn't even been up two months and I am planning a second. I have a liner that is 10ft X9.5ft so I figure a solid 9 square feet for construction. I'm planning a more formal type water feature for the front of my house. I have big white column so I want to make it look...

Hurricane Bonnie by Benign Vanilla
No this is not a joke about Bonnie in NJ. I just thought I'd chime in best wishes for the fish in the ponds in Bonnie's path. I hear MD will get slammed sometime Friday. I am sure my plants will get wrecked. BV.
