Now I see what all the fuss is about!! by
Everwyrd
I have often read similar posts to the one I am writing...grinned and moved
along but now I am really excited!
This season I set up a twenty gallon "nursery" tank to try and give my
plants a rest from the ravages of my hungry koi. As such I have been
rotating plants in and out of said container...

"attaching" plants to side of pond by
k conover
I have a pond with very narrow shelves that seem to slant down towards the
pond, so I have a very hard time keeping plants on the shelf (I've kept a
few there by putting a heavy rock in the pot on the higher part of the shelf
next to the pond wall). I've now got a couple of larger plants I want...

They have miniature water lillys that regularly sold for $1195 listed
at $4.50. Regular sized lillies listed at 9.95 now 3.50 and the
horsetail and other assorted marginals are 2.10. These are the ones
that come prepackaged in a plastic container with a plant basket etc
inside the plastic container...

fish spawning ? by
Mike Miller
I need a little help here with fish reproduction. I tossed a few feeder
goldfish into my pond 5 years ago when I dug it. They produced a 2nd and
3rd generation each successive spring, and some of the original fish were
lost to racoons. There are currently 7 or 8 fish in the 600+ gallon pond,...

Huge new plant by
Cin1754
I was given a plant from a friend, and we don't know what it is. It is quite
tall, looks like lilly pads, but they don't float on the water. They rise up
about 4 ft. into the air. She says a beautiful bloom flowers several times a
summer, and last about 3 days. Any help?

How to rid of tedpoles by
Johnny
I woke up one merning and thousands of small tedpoles hangging on the walls
of my pond. Is there any chemical that can kill these tedpoles without
harming the fish. What is the easiest way to get rid of them.
TIA,
Johnny

how long to cure liner splice? by
Mike Miller
I'm about to splice 2 liners together - my old one and a new addition - but
I'm wondering how long the silicone, tape and liner prep should cure before
allowing the fish's water to touch it. Ideas?

Sick Channel Catfish by
George
Hi all:
Well, my monster albino channel cat is sick again (he's now about 28 inches
long, and over 7 lbs). He apears to have ESC (enteric septicemia). I had to
remove him from the pond (always a fun chore in a 45" deep pond, but I managed
to move him safely), and isolate him in a 50 gallon tub. ...

impatients on waterfall by
D Kat
That is really lovely but more importantly - is that a 3' fish that I see
your (hopefully) fake bird looking at?
P.S. (given that many folks still run on modem the game rules are that you
post a link to your picture, not the picture iteslf)...

Hurricane prep a pond? by
Robin
Is there anything you can do to help a pond better withstand
a hurricane or tropical storm? Or do you just have to let
nature do it's thing? I live about 1 mile off of Mobile bay
and we may have a storm headed our way.
Thanks for any advice,
Robin

Goldfish jumping at waterfeature by
Karen
What I've noticed with my fish is they are going for the larvae/bugs/worms that
seem to develop around and on the rocks of the waterfall. When I pull string
algae off the rocks the rocks are covered with little worms and the fish go
crazy.

Earth Shattering... by
Heather
Due to the cloudy weather and the amount of shade my ponds get, the very
first lily bloom was opening this morning. I guess it was so earth
shattering that a very old mature tree decided to come crashing down. What
a day!
I'm glad to have the tip of using the power inverter to run the pond...

shubunkins & Plants by
manzara
Does anyone know if shubunkins eat/kill plants? I am having a terrible
time keeping plants in my pond. It is indoors, approx 300 gallons, 78
degree temp, with three (well fed) shubukins. Seems like they chew at the
base of the plant stems. However, I have never caught them "in action",
perhaps...

mosquitoes ~ caveat emptor by
Ka30P
One of the things that drives me nuts... but I guess makes
our economy tick so I shouldn't complain too much? The
manufacture of 'stuff' for the pond that isn't needed.
Anyway. I bought a pond magazine today (which will remain
nameless as they put this thing in editorial content) and there
it was,...

how to make floaties stay put? by
RichToyBox
I put hyacinths in a hula hoop tied to the side of the pond where I want
them. You can either buy the fancy colored at wallyworld or make your own
with tubing and a dowel to connect the ends. Works great.
