I have a lotus in my pond that has been there for three years. It has been repotted once and did well that year. As of today it is showing no growth although the tuber is a fleshy color and feels firm. The other two lotus in my pond are doing great. Any ideas on how long I should leave this one in...

Second pump for a bottom drain. by Mickey
I have been toying with the idea of putting a submersible pump in the pond to act as a bottom filter. I already have a Savio skimmer with an external sequence pump, should be pumping about 3000GPH. The second pump would act as a bottom filter and a fountain maybe to power my floating turtle. How...

1-3 per day (indoor toadlets) by jammer
When the tads grow both sets of legs, the tail almost goes away, and they crawl up on a rock or plant like a big boy, they get to go outside in the "big" pond. At the rate of 1-3 per day starting yesterday. The tads in the pond don't appear to have back legs yet and are teeny compared to the house...

This new pond is more darned fun!! by pixi
Ha!! Had a landscaper finish putting in the pond I had started. The skimmer is too low so that the shelves along the edges are mostly out of the water. He was so far behind in his work last fall that I told him I could wait until April to get the skimmer raised. He has had a severe attack...

Looking for Comments from Experience by Benign Vanilla
The SO approved me renting a trencher so I can run power and water out to the pond. When I mentioned I could T off and put a spigot in the garden, she instantly approved the rental. Before I do this...Any thoughts? gotchas? wish-I-had-done-this's? BV.

Help - sick fish by Coop
Anyone who can help, please contact me asap. I have a large (12-14") Koi, about 3 years old, that has what appears to be Algae (the long variety, as opposed to slimy film type) down both sides of the fish, towards the ventral (underbelly). The left eye also appears to be clouded, although not...

The parrot's feather that would not die.... by Ka30P
Last summer I was surprised to find a bunch of parrot's feather had survived after being yanked out of the frog bog and tossed into the compost pile. Then we had a real crazy winter for us, 19 below, followed by tons of snow. Today I was out surveying the backyard and there in the dregs of the old...

The Great Lotus Race; May 26, 2004 by Benign Vanilla
The lotus planted two feet deep is sending up plenty of leaves. There are four tubors in that pot so the large number of leaves is expected. The tubor planted four feet down...has an aerial this week! NEDRA!!!! BV.

Dying Water Hyacinth by stricks760
In March I bought some robust WH with big, green leaves. It slowly shrunk down to tiny-leaved, mostly brown, ugly stuff -- which I pulled out and threw away last weekend. Why would this stuff be dying? I have a water lilly that's doing great & duckweek, watercress, canna, umbrella plant, water...

Waterfall repair--Great Stuff? by GoldLexus
We need to seal up some leaking in our watefall. The waterfall/pond is about 5 years old and is the victim of settling so we have cracks between rocks and the cement. The pond is not leaking fortunately. The pond water is currently low due to evaporation and not very much spring rain. Anyway, I...
