I've always wanted a bathouse, but I read that they need a water source within 50'. Will a water garden act as that source?

Murky Pond by Evil Noodle
I have a small pond which has been established for about six years, has never been filtered and only contains a couple of 5" goldfish. The last few nights have seen an increase in vocal activity around our pond. Last night, it started to lose its beauty about 3 AM. I went out and in a matter of 2 minutes counted a dozen and a half gulf coast toads (Houston, TX). This morning the hornwort is covered with strings of eggs. On the...

Great Stuff to Seal Leaks? by GACinMass
While building a patio next to the pond (2500 gal, Permalon) I uncovered a 4' x 2' x 6" granite rock. Of course I just HAD to incorporate it into my pond's shoreline. Using a lever and slowly rolling it on pipes I got it into position and leveled it. It looks great! Unfortunately my pond now has a...

By tying food pellets to the end of string algae, over the course of several months I trained my Koi to eat string algae. I no longer have to feed them, but have noticed that their fins are getting longer, narrower, and have a greenish tint. Let's see, today is what, April 1st?

Aqua UV Ultima 11 filters? anybody use these? The good and the bad please. by The Dude
I was thinking of getting the 2000 model for a 1000 gal pond. I wanted to know if they keep the pond clean and what kind of maintenance they required other than backwashing. I have a Seqence 5800 series pump which should be more than enough. My main objective is crystal clear water. I know the...
