Bead Filter, External Pump, and Bottom Drain. by
Jim
I'm thinking about adding an inside-the-liner bottom drain with an
external pump and filter.
Can anyone comment on bead filters or suggest something better? I've
got my eye on the Aquabead 2.5 CU. FT. model. Here's a link.

Problem with new pond by
pixi
Had my pond and waterfall put in last fall but...
The skimmer is too low in the water. The landscaper was so far behind in
his work that I said I would wait until spring if he would come back in
April.
Now he says he can't and I'll have to wait my turn. Whenever that might
be.. So I think I'm...

Looking for sites and resources.... by
JNJ
Someone has asked me for some links and resources, both on the 'net and in
book form, relating to setting up a pond in the garden. They're considering
pumps, filters, designs, fish, plants, and so forth. Does anyone have any
sources in particular they favor?
TIA....

Just Me \Koi\
Let me start off by confessing that I have some pretty weird Koi, heck one

Anyway less I digress, I have Koi that will splash the water when I am near
to get attention, one that will swim really fast anytime I have orange for
them, and let's not...

Mice or Moles - Liner friendly? by
Gale Pearce
I just discovered I have mice or moles living in my waterfall mound. The
holes burrowed under the edges of rocks are ~ 1 1/2" in diameter. I set a
trap and caught a rodent with a 4 1/2" long X 1 1/2" diam body - it looks
like a mouse, but larger than any I have caught before - someone...

Difference Between a Skimmer and Bio Filter by
Waseem
Hi
I have a Bioforce 4500 UVC pond filter , filtering a 1000 L pond
I just wanted to know the difference between this and a Skimmer in
terms of how they work or is a skimmer to "pre-filter" the larger
waste before the filtering?

Hi group - I have several questions that I post to my local group and
got little or no response. Perhaps the fact that I might actually see
these people at meetings make them less likely to just venture a
guess. In any case I would greatly appreciate your ideas and
opinions. Thanks in...

Questions about S.A.B. by
stricks760
Hi -
Once the sun took an angle to hit my pond most of the day, and with water
temp at about 70 deg F, major string algae. It grew faster than I could
take it out -- remove in the AM, it was back in the PM. I prefer a natural
balance, but this stuff was absolutely taking over!
I dosed with...

Steve and Lisa
I've been reading several different sites, some say to put sand then
underlayment......others just say underlayment. It's not going to be a

How do I lower my PH? by
KRF
Just set my pond up Wednesday. Tested my Ph yesterday, and it 7.5.
How do I lower it to 7 or below. The book I have from the Library, say
a little under 7 is ideal for plants and fish, is this true? Thanks

Hiding the Skimmer by
pixi
Can someone give me advice on how to hide the skimmer? It is at the corner
of my new pond that will eventually have plantings around it.
I thought I could probably hide it with plants but then there is the problem
of getting to it to clean the filter. There is probably a plant that would
cover...
