Shop Vac for cleaning pond? by
camper
I am thinking about buying a small Shop Vac to help clean my pond. Is there
a model that will blow out the water rather than holding it in the tank?
That way I will not have to empty it every few minutes.
Also, what is the best product to clean green water? I have been using
AlgaeFix from Pond...

aslng
1) My lily leaves became smaller and smaller during the last summer. Now, I
am not sure if it's dead. Rhizome has many roots but no leaf this year so
far. The Rhizome is dark brown color. How could I tell if it's dead?
2) What's the ideal pot size for hardy lily? Is 12 inches ok? I read...

Expandable foam question by
grubber
How waterproof is that stuff? I'm putting in a stream and there are many
wide flat limestone rocks that I would like to incorporate, while using EPDM
liner for most of the stream. In particular, there is a rock about five
feet in diameter, about 4 inches thick that has a nice overhang. I...

It seems every where I read, someone is recommending Water Starwort as
a top notch oxygenator yet I cannot find anyone who sells it. Do any

Lily pads by
Bonnie
This morning there was ice on the ponds again and I noticed
that one of the lilies is sending up pads (almost to the
surface). I guess Spring is on it's way, but not fast enough!

Fences by
Sam Hopkins
Hi Everyone,
I cleared out a ton of trees last year when I built my pond. It's a
mix of locust (I believe black), maple and some cheery. Mainly it's
maple though. I'm going to use the locust as fence posts because I
know that they last a long time in the dirt without being treated. I
also wanted...

patching the liner a lot by
bjt
Last spring I spent a couple of months finding leaks in my liner and
patching them. Each leak involved raising the water, waiting a few days for
the leak to lower the level, then gentle inspecting the perimeter of the new
water level to find the leak (pond is 8x15 so the perimeter is...

Galvanized & Fish by
T
I'm adding an additional filter to my pond. I have a 3 foot gap between it
and the pond and am contemplating various ways of spanning the distance. A
rubber lined rock course might be an option. I really don't like the thought
of PVC pipe. I was thinking about making a trough using...

UV and dead fry Bum rap for mosquito fish? by

A fish farmer that used to hang around here mentioned they kill off

raise fry you need to feed them and he suggested boiled egg yoke.
Does anyone with a UV have a good batch of hatchlings? If the UV really
