Help - I think I've got string algae! by
Mogweed
A few weeks ago I posted that my water was going green (UK-based, new pond
with waterfall (running 24/7) but no plants or fish yet until the spring)
and the general concensus was to leave it alone, which I did. Pond size is
about 8ft by 7ft and about 2 1/2 ft deep in the middle, rising to front...

I Miss My Pond!!! by
Broomhilda
I am sitting here in sunny Florida (Ha, ha, ha!! ) wishing I was back home
in the two or three feet of snow that I hear covers the ground.
I am spending a lot of time planning the landscaping for my new pond. Was
just finished last fall. The waterfall is outstanding. I can't take credit
for it...

Oh Oh, need help! by
Simmons
I have a large pond (3500 gallons) that has been home to a dozen koi for the last 8 years. I closed it up at the end of October (Massachusetts) and for the last two days the fish have been at the top of the water gasping for air. I have never run into this problem before and was hoping someone here...

My wife just saw an ibis standing on the pond surround, and now the fish
wont come up to be fed. Not sure if any are missing at this stage, wouldn't
be surprised.
How long do GF take to recover from shock and what can we expect in way of
consequences if any.
Apart from netting the pond are there...

Mystery: Fish out of water by
charlie
This morning I noticed something on the ground, close to my pond and did
not
recognize it as being the largest goldfish we have. He is about 8 or 9
inches,
very fat.
We had dug a new 8 x 12 ft. pond in the fall and filled it with well
water,
an airstone, lots of that green underwater oxygenating...

"Shark" Algae Eater? by
stricks760
My local Koi ranch mentioned in their newsletter that they have some kind of
a 'shark' that eats gunk off the bottom of the pond.
Anyone know what this could be, and if I should investigate further, or
avoid it?
Thanks!

Digging a tiny pond to attract wildlife by
Dave
I'm digging a small pond at a point that will collect runoff water
from a wooded area. I'm hoping to attract wildlife and perhaps a few
frogs. I'm hoping a few goldfish will control the mosquito production.
The planned size is perhaps 8 x 10 feet. I'm still trying to determine
whether a liner will...

Under the Ice: Pictures by
[email protected]
Two years ago I added a web cam to my pond, so I can enjoy it from my
office. I move the camera around; under water, above water - looking
at the waterfall, etc. This winter I decided to leave the camera
underwater. I thought it would be interesting to see what life is like
for the fish under the...
