Mickey
My local garden shop has water lettuce for $0.25 I bought 16 of them and

aren't selling them. I also got a few other things I think they were called
water Hyacinths (SP) they look like a group of floating radishes. How do...

Floating liner by
RichToyBox
If the water level in the pond is higher than the surrounding ground level,
then the weight of water should hold the liner down. If it does not, then
insert a hose between the liner and the soil, and try to get it to go as
near the center of the bulge as possible. The weight of the pond...

New Xavan liner by
sansivaria
Hi all, I just purchased a new xavan liner, 19 by 19 feet. It is in
the ups system as I type. What I would like to know is if you have
heard of any downside to this type of liner so I will know what to
watch out for while installing it. I chose it because I am putting in
the pond by myself and,...

Pasta ... by
Lee Brouillet
PASTE, Theo, PASTE! Pasta is what you put sauce on, that the Italians are
so famous for GBG!
When I mix mine up, I measure out about 1/3 cup of the dry stuff into a
bowl. Then you add "almost" that much of liquid, mix it up into a stiff
little ball, knead it well (like bread dough - or, like...

Misters by
Rob Taylor
I am designing a garden feature for my garden. I have been looking at mist
and lighting units to enhance the cascades. As I have no experience of them
or to that matter know of anyone else that has one,I was hoping that
some-one could give their thoughts on these items please. Good or bad,...

Blob by
Anne Lurie
I'll give Jon the benefit of the doubt by saying he's just seconding my own
guess, since he did not post any website.
In retrospect, I see that the subject of Jon's post is apparently an email
address -- this is probably not a good idea, because that email address is
now posted for all eternity...

Captured! by
Lori
That blasted raccoon that has trashed my watergarden twice!
The professional critter-catcher left 2 Hav-a-heart traps set a week
or so ago, and the one in the crawlspace had been tripped once with
nothing in it....but tonight, I heard the trap close, hubby checked,
and wow!! the 'coon was IN it...

Need filtration system for BIG pond - help! by
RichToyBox
Several others will give info on filter systems. I have a vortex, going to
a bead filter, going to an upflow gravel filter filled with plants. If you
are doing a koi pond, I would highly recommend going deeper, installing a
bottom drain, and a skimmer. 2 feet deep is pretty shallow for koi. My...

After months of planning, weeks of work and a trip to emergency our first

Footbridge by
orchided
Sometime back a person on this forum built a footbridge to cross over their
watergarden, and posted a text/picture outline of the project, in detail.
The tutorial was in .doc format, with drawings/photos, as well as text,
outlining the complete process. Unfortunately, I did not save the...

Shade loving marginal plants? by
[email protected]
Hi Folks,
I'm a newbie to ponding, and I'm in the process of putting in a pond
approx. 7 X 14 ft. Our pond will be in a shady area, and I would like
to get recommendations for marginal plants requiring very little sun
(if there are any). The pond will be in our shade garden, and I'm
hoping there...

What are those Fern like things? by
Von Fource
I have had my little pond for three years. During year one I put these
fern like plants in it. I planted them in a little bowl of sand/dirt and
placed them in the shallow part of the pond. After that they took off and
completely covered my pond. I loved it! Well, last winter was really bad
and...
