Luft Pump---- by
Joan
I use a Luft Pump with a double exit air line to supply air to the bottom of
my 2 adjoining ponds. I leave the pump on my porch, as I know that they
should not be exposed to the elements. I let this run 24/7-----365 days a
year. In the Winter, I move the tubing closer to the top of the water so...

I have a Mosaic plant in my pond that is just lovely. Ludwigia sedoides is
the botanical name. I know that it is a tropical plant and I am trying to
figure out a way to keep it over the winter.
Does anyone have any experience with this plant? I am in Middle Tennessee so

Anyone know anything about these critters? One of the local (private) pet

meds, and what their temp range is. I'd hate to...

Advice on using copper/brass pipe work in filter by
Axolotl
Does anybody have anything to say on the subject of copper/brass fittings
when building your own bio/mechanical filter system?
I have just built a small filter system for my new pond (2600 gal), and
have studiously avoided using any metal fittings, but I am not very happy
with the impedance that...

"Powdery" algae? by
K30a
Could it be dead algae from the UV?
Maybe it will eventually turn brown?
Have you heard of the 'garbage can filter'?
Route the water through the top of a garbage can full of
quilt batting, old clothes, bedding (something along those lines) with a hole
at the bottom. and see if you can 'strain'...

Transporting goldfish by
JGW
Hi. My goldfish have been reproducing to the point that my pond is
getting overcrowded, so I have to move some goldfish to a new pond.
This will require a car trip 2.5-3.5 hours long. I am interested in
any advice about how to do this successfully without hurting my fish
or stressing them too...

The bluegills spawned by

Welp I was walking around my pond and when I got to crawfish cove I saw
about 20-30 one foot diameter circles each with a male bluegill swimming in
a circle guarding their precious eggs. HOT DAMN! They weren't supposed to
spawn until next spring. Now along with the...

Spawning Frequency by

We discovered fish eggs in our pond twice in two weeks. I have only seen
one of the sarasas being chased and bothered, ever, and not really all that
much. Can a fish lay eggs with this frequency, or do I have more than one
female in my pond?
The first batch did produce some fry, but I fear they...
