I Have a Frog!!!! by
GaneaRowenna
I was just out using the PondTabs that RichToyBox told me about, and I found a
frog. I don't know where he/she came from. I live in the high desert and have
never seen a frog anywhere near my house. I just received some plants from a
friend, I wonder if it came from there. I didn't get a real...

anacharis substitute? (it's illegal in Maine) by
Brian
Hi there,
I have two new half-barrel ponds. I put a water lily and two marginals
in each of them. I'd like to get some more plants, particularly something
that can provide oxygen and prevent algae. In my research, I've heard
glowing reviews of anacharis for this purpose. However, I just learned...

alkalinity and PH by
GaneaRowenna
I admit, that I have never tested my water, before today. I haven't lost any
fish, but my lilies only get 1 or 2 blooms and the leaves are quite small.
Could the plant problem be because of the alkalinity and PH?
My alkalinity(KH) reading was extremely high, 300ppm and my PH was over 8.
I read an...

Would you like some Eggs with that Mop? Egg-dentify by
David
I placed a cotton mop head in my pond last weekend hoping the fish
would spawn. I have just discovered some foam at the surface of the
water and went to check out the mop and found light yellow eggs on the
bottom. Would these be Koi or goldfish eggs? How do I know when
they're fertilized? What do I...

Momo Botan Lotus by
~ jan JJsPond.us
Originally I wanted a Momo Botan, ordered a tuber, killed it. So I went to
the nursery towards the end of season last year and got what claimed to be
a Double Rose lotus. Now that it is blooming profusely it looks like a Momo
Botan. The interesting thing regarding the flowers, there is no seed...

Edging Ideas by
JRF
Hi Guys:
I'm moving to my new house this weekend and I just finished a 750 gal
pond in the backyard. It's basically a rough triangle shape dug into in
a flat lawn. I'm looking for some different or new ideas for edging the
flexible liner. I grew kind of tired of the rock/paver look I had at my
old...

Help answer this for me? by
DonKcR
Hi, Another questions for the pro's, I read that backing soda can change the
high nitrite level to a good level. Is this true? If so how does this effect
fish and plants? How will it effect a bio filter? Has any one ever really
done this? The article I read can't remember where now said you use 1...
