Koi fry update by Koi-lo
The young koi hatched last April are still thriving. Some were sold late last summer. So far only one didn't make the winter. We had a cold spell that froze over the surface except for a small hole where the 300w heater was. I bought another 600g pool to grow out some of the young butterfly koi....

Two more goldfish by Koi-lo
I went to PetsMart this afternoon and came back with two more goldfish. A calico bubble-eye and a orange telescope-eye/moor. It looks like a gold moor, not the calico GF sold as telescope-eyes. The koi they had were really nice. Spotted and tri-colors, one a good quality tancho! Prices were...

Does a pond "breathe"? Is it important? by Galen Hekhuis
I may not use the proper terminology, but if anyone can make heads or tails out of this and responds or tells me where I can find more information I sure would appreciate it. There seems to be a sort of local water table with respect to ponds. To put it one way, if you dig a hole in the ground...

Filtering a big pond by Galen Hekhuis
