Hood Rec's Sought by
John Thomas
I'm looking for a hood that I can put on top of a 10x20 inch glass lid.
Hopefully, it would be bright enough to grow plants in a (deep) 20
gallon freshwater tank.
After a couple of weeks of looking, all I've been able to find so far
are 10W chunks of plastic at Engulf & Devour Pets, or when...

standpipe by
bart j mendelson
So I had my tank drilled at the bottom, got myself a bulkhead and some
pipe and then realised that when working with a standpipe and skimmer
would stop the need for an overflow in the corner, wouldn't it?
You know what I mean, the box-shaped refugium in the corner would
become obsolete.
If I...

R/O acidic water back-flush. by
Leroy Mowry
I am back-flushing the reverse osmosis membrane with an acidic
water generator, (actually a pH 3.0 water ionizer.) I am hoping to
kill bacteria and flush out deposits. The pressure from the ionizer is
probably 35-45psi. The ionizer is generally used to wash fish,
chickens, cutting boards, fruits...

S Akky
Complete newbie here, so forgive my stupidity! Recently (3 months ago) got
a small tank for some tropical fish. Had problems with the light (5/8"x12"
8W).
After about a month, it came on brightly when it was turned on but that
only lasted for 30 or so seconds before dimming to a much lower...

You know, many people don't have time to clean their aquaria, so I
wonder if there are cleaning robots or cleaning nanobots that will do
that?

Quatermass
I decide to make myself a cheap snail trap for my Aquarium.

4 plastic Settee caster covers for =A32.20 and a zinc plated 6mm wide, 3
inch long screw (25p) and some nuts (50p).
I then drilled a series of small 2mm holes around...

Kick starting new tank with pre conditioned water. by
Gary
Hello,
I have just purchased a 300 litre aquarium to be used for Tropical
freshwater.
I already have an established 100 litre aquarium, and I do partial water
changes every 4 or 5 days. Can I kick start this aquarium with 50 litres of
the other tanks water? Or should I start afresh?
Regards,
