Biggest Beginner Mistake? by
Dan White
Let's say a newbie has a marine tank (fish and live rock, basic stuff).
Excepting the process of cycling a tank, what do you think is the biggest
mistake that marine tank owners make, which may result in dead fish?

Skinny Worm ID? by
John Mayer
Somehow, in a bucket of aged tapwater I was about to add to my aquarium
I found I strange, very skinny worm. It's about the general size of a
bristle worms, and it does, indeed, have bristles, but they are smaller
and harder to see than those on other bristleworms I've seen. Also, it
has two...

Keeping Garibaldi's? by
Rick
Can anyone share some of their experience's of keeping Garibaldi's.
I thinking of purchasing a small one 4.5" for my 125 gal tank. I know
they are a member of the damselfish. Are they very agressive? What
other fish are they compatable with. I saw some in a tank at the front
desk (40'x8'x10')at...

Reef Conventions? by
Richard Periut
Hi all,
I've been trying to do a google search on the aforementioned, or general
aquaria convention, but have had no avail.
I'm sure there must be a convention here in the USA or Canada that
sports the latest in all things reef and/or aquariums, et cetera.
I appreciate (as always) the feedback.

Cycling Tank and Nitrite Spikes by
Ray Martini
Hi All:
I have a 72 gallon bow FOWLR tank. I added 90 lbs of live Fiji rock on Dec
21. Since it is a new setup I did not cure the rock figuring I'd cycle the
tank with the rock. Lights out since the rock was added. (Well ocassionally
a peek in!) Skimmer is running. It produced tons of crap in the...

Success with Sponges? by
[email protected]
I have a 4 year old reef tank, and over the years I have attempted on
numerous occassions to introduce specimens of sponges into my tank. I
know that they are not to be exposed to air at all. Virtually all the
attempts have had a similar course. They start to shrink away, usually
with a whitish...

Pop by
DeeOooGee
I heard this a couple of times and then the other day I read about the loud
"popping" or "clicking" sound that is a shrimp? Wow... I thought my glass
broke or a rock fell and hit the glass it was loud. Why would I remove this
loud little bugger (never have saw him)?

Raising Chaetomorpha by
Dan Norgard
I'd appreciate any advice on raising Chaetomrpha. I Googled it and only
found a small mention of 'tumbling' and there was mention of not growing it
in a tank with different Macros. Am I to understand it is not to be in the
same system or just separated like Caulerpa in the display and...

wet/dry filter which is more like a sump now. However sometimes the water
level is to high and it overflows. What type of valve do i want to install

Furthermore, what about segments of soft corals removed to keep them...

Mislav
Hi,
I'm wondering how is everyone here maintaing the sand. I have problem with
it, it constantly gets algae growth over it. First diatoms, then cyano. I

Must Sell: 80 gal glass tank/Miami area/$175 obo by
[email protected]
I have a 80 gallon glass aquarium tank I must get rid of. The glass is
1/2 inch thick and there are no detectable leaks or scratches on the
glass that I can see. Being glass it weighs a LOT! and I do not wish to
ship it (it would be cost prohibitive). So interested parties near the
Miami, Florida...

Shelf Life of Brine Shrimp Eggs by
TomW
I bought several vials of BS Eggs about 6 months ago. I occassionally
mix a small batch.
The last 3 batches have had little/no yield. I'm using the same recipe
for the water (thanks Marc).
Is there a shelf life for BS Eggs? Is there a way to store them?
TIA
