is it a slug? by
Joe V.
When I turned my lights on tonight, I noticed there were many slug-like
critters on the glass. I tried taking a picture, but it didn't come out well
....
They were 1mm in length, transparent with a black dot-like thing inside
their bodies. The body was bullet shaped, but the tail had two...

Top Down Photobox by
Marc Levenson
I built a new top down box to fit my camera last night, and gave it a test run.
This one is smaller, rather streamlined, and allows me to access the buttons
more easily.
Negative: Easier to let water into the box. I need to slope the side walls to
avoid this potential risk.
Positive: The camera...

Mort
Anyone have experience with mixing different types of anemones?
In a 75g, I already have a Sebae but I am thing of adding either a long

Any thoughts or advice are appreciated.

Acrylic or Glass by
Larry Bohen
I'm buying a new aquarium, probably a 46 gallon bowfront and would like to
know:
1. which material is best, acrylic or glass?
2. which manufacturer is best?
3. One acrylic unit I am looking at has a wet/dry filter built-in the back.
Is this a good idea?
4. are there online sources of independent...

water changes by
John B
I do water changes with ro/di water. I take out 5G, and I have a 5G pail of
fresh water mixed to 1.023. Is there anything else I should be adding to
the water when I mix the 5G pail or is all I need already in the salt mix?
I use red sea salt.
Another thing that gets me is my water's only pH...

A way to avoid surface scum by
Marc Levenson
My son's 29g sumpless FOWLR kept getting surface scum, which inhibits gas
exchange. I was sick of it, so I built this little box to help keep the surface
clean.

Help with inherited reef tank by
Charles Henderson
A friend of mine set up a very nice 90 gal. reef system, populated it,
then gradually got so busy traveling for business, the system died. He
made an effort to save the live rock by putting it in an
unlit-but-aerated Rubbermaid can. Naturally everything died but the
bacteria in the rock.
After a...

Stockman overflow USERS by
John
I plan on implementing the Stockman overflow. Use this link
http://www.rl180reef.com/pages/standpipe/standpipe-ken_stockman.htm
Does one position the overflow pipe submerged, partially submerged, or
completely above the waterline AS IT ENTERS THE SUMP.
