creature IDs by
Dave
I've had my SW tank set up for about a year. A few weeks ago I started
noticing white worm-like organisms (?) on my live rock. They don't appear
to move. They vary from about 1/8 to one inch in length.
Also, on the tank glass, small white spiral-shaped creatures about 1/16"
inch and...

Why does my BTA anemone picks a shadowed place? by
Pszemol
I have small BTA anemone in my tank and now it passed couple of days
after I put it there. I have placed it on the top of my rockwork
and it attached itself almost instantly. The same evening, when lights
went off, it started slowly crawling down. In the next day it stopped
for the whole light...

New Algae Problem.... by
Mort
Here's an interesting one...
I have a 75g reef been up for about 5 monts now. 60lbs LR & 4" DSB.
I use RO/DI water and I have had a handful of different algae outbreaks.
Now I have a DARK GREEN film that is growing on the sand and you can
actually see "pearling" (bubbles forming on it) on the...

New cool thing found in my tank by
Joseph
Okay... New Question:
I was looking in my tank today (as I do everyday), and I've noticed
some sort of organism I haven't seen before. I think I haven't
noticed it because it's on a piece of the live rock I just rearranged.
It looks like a tunical (I think it;s what they are called)... It's...

Live Rock dieing off, what next ? by

Well my first batch of live rock didn't go down to well, what life was on
the rock has almost completely gone (3 weeks), in several places the dead
stuff is being covered quite quickly with white fungus, all this rock is in
a holding tank, if I was to leave the rock there how long would it take...

Hair algae by
Kelly
I got tons of green hair algae growing in my tank. I picked up a algae
eating Blenny and he does eat a lot of it but not enough to maintain the
state of the tank. I also have a lot of brown algae which I understand is
from using tap water. I have started doing all my top ups with purified
water so...

Anemone Food Snatchers... by
Mort
I did a google on this subject....
Tank mates stealing food from Anemones...
I read it may be neccessary to "guard" the anemone at first until it
swallows it's food.
My question is, how long do I need to guard it on the individual feedings
(10 minutes?) and how long should it be neccessary to...

Advice: Looking for some Books by
skozzy
I am new to this coral tank stuff and with my Birthday around the corner the
wife was asking me what I want. I told her that i'd like some book(s) that I
can use as a reference for my new hobby, so I would like some input into
some books to look into that introduce the setting up, maintaining...

New Brain by
Dracunculus
This is the new Favites brain coral I got last week. Managed to get a good
shot of my yellow watchman goby hovering near it. Of course, now that I was
so happy about getting that shot, the goby is there all the time....

Identification help by
Ct Midnite
Well I can tell by the number of responses I received to my Aiptasia
question that my ability to describe something leaves a little to be
desired. :)
So that led me to try my hand at a web site. It's crude and one day
old but I've never done anything like this before so don't make fun.
Take a...

hitch-hiking crab by
Kelly
I got a couple new pieces of LR yesterday and today I noticed a very large
crab in the tank. It's about 1.5 inches in diameter and looks like a sort of
green\grey color. Definitely not an emerald, he looks very stocky (fat claws
and shell) and has black pinchers. I have only really got a good 2 or...
