Torque axis mount on '97 SL2 by
Gary Kirchherr
While getting my SES-light-related problem fixed, the tech noted that
the torque axis mount had collapsed, which is going to cost me $165 to
repair. Is this something I can put off, or does letting it slide for a
while put me at risk for seriously damaging the engine and/or powertrain?

engine coolant light by
stonecreek
I recently purchased a 2000 SL2 with about 50K on it. Great car, so far.
Yesterday, the engine coolant idiot light came on, but the temp gauge was
fine. The light didn't stay on long, but has happened 5 or 6 times since
and only for a minute or so. The owners manual doesn't say much about...

Freezing gas door by
Jocko
I'm not sure how common this is but it affects both my 2001 SL2 and my
wife's 1999 SC1. If we wash the car in winter the gas door won't open. We
have to have one of us pulling up on the release lever while the other pries
open the door with a key, etc. to open it. When it warms up...

Idiotic impersonator by
Blah blah
I come in here to check up on whats going on and there was a flood of
post. I was wondering what was with all the stupid recipe crap and who's
ever doing this is rotating IP's with a anonymizer type program. However
those IP's keep logs of people logging on and if they want to try
something illegal...

SL1 1.9 Oil Burner by
No1z fool
I understand this is a common problem. Does anyone have any success dealing
with the dealer on this issue? Mine is going through a quart in 250 miles, with
only 50,000 miles on the car and impecable service records.
Thanks.

'93 SC2 Cruise schematic??? by
Philip Nasadowski
Ok, anyone got a schematic/wiring diagram for the cruise setup on a '93
SC2? I'm trying to hack cruise into mine, here's what I've done:
* Installed the switch on the wwheel, and wiring harness in there
* Installed the clutch off switch, and adjusted. Oh yeah, and plugged
it in :)
* Installed...

Sunroof maintenance? by
marx404
I am now the proud owner of a 2002 SC2 with a sunroof. I was just wondering
if the sunroof drainage system needs periodical maintenance cleaning to keep
it clog-free?
Thanx!

CLUTCH PEDAL ?? by
nrutas
Hey, just got a 95 Saturn SL2. It's a 5 speed and today the car wouldn't
shift. Seems the pedal (?) rod fell away from the firewall. Is this
possible? I guess I got my cowboy boot caught on it and pulled the pedal
forward and broke the car. There are two plugs that seem to go nowhere
and the...

L300 accident by
Art
A friend had a pretty bad accident with a 2004 L300 wagon. Basically lost
control and squeezed the front between 2 other cars. So bascially headlights
and fenders on both sides done it, along with hood, bumper and some damage
to the front under carriage.... a suspension cradle and some of the...

Saturn SL1 1997 Problems- Help. by
Lu
I have 2 problems since I bought this used 1997 SL1 with 74,000 miles.
1)I have to turn the ignition key several times to start the car.
I went to 2 mechanics and they could not tell me if this is a problem
with the key cylinder or starter.
2)When starting the car- the engines revs to 1300 rpm and...

New valve body part number for infamous transaxle problems at twice the cost by
John Hupp
NEWS FLASH! For 1990's Saturns (certainly '95 plus or minus a couple
years) that shift into reverse slowly or slam when they do, or for
Saturns that may not shift into upper gears when warm (often setting a
diagnostic trouble code and lighting the Service Engine Soon
indicator), the most common...

Windshield wiper installation: 2000 SL2 by
Eric Mark
Greetings all.
I just purchased a pair of TripleEdge windshield wipers to prepare my
2000 SL2 for winter. The wipers I have now are starting to smear a bit
in rain; don't want to take a chance what they'll do in snow or ice.
(I live in northeaster PA; fair amount of frozen precip most...

Does the PCM control the Traction Control by
Lee3333
When calibrating a new PCM, do you have to set anything regarding if the
car is equipped with traction control? Perhaps this is why mine does not
work after having a new computer installed.

Front air spoiler on 96 SW1 needed? by
Chuck Connell
Hi all,
The low front air spoiler on this car came loose and I pulled it off. It
appears to have no function other than scraping on curbstones as I park. Is
it doing something I don't know about, or can I just throw it away?
TIA,
Chuck Connell
