97 Civic HX Axle by Brian
Hi - I am trying to replace the right side axle half-shaft, and can't get the spindle nut loose. I applied approximately 700 ft-lb torque - can't break it loose. There are no visible threads - I am hoping it is a right-hand thread? Any suggestions to get it loose? I am almost lifting the wheel...

97 Civic HX by Brian
Hi - I need to replace the bushing at the lower end of the left rear strut - in the lower control arm. Is it pressed in, will I be able to install it without an arbor press? I can't get the lower arm off, so it will be hard to take to a shop. Thanks - Brian

Buying a 2007 Civic LX tips? by Brian Beuchaw
Hello all, My 94 Saturn SC1's life has been nice, but it's time for a new car and I'm leaning towards a 2007 Civic LX coupe. I was going to get a DX, but would've had to add a CD player, and since more nice stuff comes with the LX for not much more than the CD player would've cost, I figure...

2003 Civic headlight/key reminder not working - fuse? by Brian Beuchaw
Hello all, Looked at the manual, Googled both the web and Usenet, checked out tegger's site, but couldn't really find any info about this. It's my wife's car and the headlight and key-in reminders/beepers stopped working about a week or so ago (seatbelt reminder still works, though). I checked...

Manual Transmission Fluid Change - Photos??? by [email protected]
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew a place online where I can find photos of a manual transmission fluid change. Seems like a simple request, but I've been unable to find it anywhere. When looking at the Honda Service Manual, it has an exploded Trans Housing view and an underside view of the...

93 Honda Civic AC Only Works Occasionally HELP! ???? .... by [email protected]
Hello everyone. I recently bought a very nice 1993 Civic DX 4 door. The air conditioning only works when you first start the car and can last up to 10 minutes or so before it stops getting cold. If left on, it sometimes kicks back on. Any idea's on this? I recently had it converted to R134a coolant...

02 CRV--Transmission Sensor Switch Problem? by Brian[_5_]
I have a 2002 Honda CRV with nearly 80,000 miles. I've had for about 2 years and it runs very well. Just recently, the drive button ("D") started blinking. I checked the manual and it said it may be a transmission problem. I took the car to Autozone and they read the code and said it is a problem...

Steering/Braking problem and bad smell! by Brian[_5_]
This morning I noticed an unpleasant smell shortly after I made a turn on my commute to work. It smelled sort of like gas, only a bit more "toxic". I thought maybe it was the guy in front of me or just something in the air (I do live in New Jersey, after all!). But shortly after that, I noticed...

06 Honda Accord transmission problem. by [email protected]
We bought a new Honda Accord 06 this July and it has only about 1k mileage on it. Recently the engine light often lights up and the car kind of "stutters" or hesitates when we try to speed it up while going uphill. We checked the motor oil and it's more than half full. We took it to the car dealers...

Can't get the %$#@! license plate off by Brooklin
Not quite a strictly Honda question, but since I've gotten lots of good info here in the past, I'd thought I post here. I have a '97 Civic that I was putting a new front license plate cover on. The bolts were pretty tight, but I loosened them up with WD40. The last bolt seemed to turn, but the...
