Anyway to do an engine without removing the head? by Hachiroku $B%O%A%m%/(B[_3_]
I have a bit of a dilemna I need to replace my head gasket, but the bottom end probably needs a good looking into also. I have a genuine Toyota HG, but have not pulled the head yet. So, if I replace the gasket now, and then next year want to do the crank bearings, etc can the motor just be pulled...

Corolla pinging - old timing belt? by Dan
Hi, '95 Corolla 4A-FE, 80k miles, pings under load (when climbing hill), mainly on days when the air is dry. It also seems to have a harder time climbing. The car eats some 1/2 quart of oil between changes. I tried several brands of fuel additives with no improvement. Timing belt is the original....

Head bolt failure and Coolant Loss on 2002-2006 Toyota 2.4L engines by john
Some owners would notice coolant loss and leaks on the back side of the 2.4L engines, resulting in $4000+ of repairs, because head bolts simply come loose by themselves. I suspect 2007+ engines will suffer the same fate down the road. "3/6/2008 Coolant Loss on 2002-2006 Toyota 2.4L, 2AZFE...
