80 amp fuse update by
pws[_1_]
The new fuse is in, and all is well. No more blown fuses after they
drove it last evening.
Thanks, there is now another happy Miata owner in Austin. That was fast
and cheap.

Modified Mazdaspeed 2006 MX-5 by
pws
I just saw this on a local list. Interesting pictures of the car built
up for racing, some showing it partially disassembled.

Basic Horsepower Upgrades by
ritchiekidd
I'm a rookie mazda owner.
I'd like to know if anyone has suggestions about how to increase the
horsepower via minor/inexpensive changes, such as exhaust or air
filters?
I'm not looking to make my car a racer, just a little bit more balls,
without sacrificing reliability.
Any specific part...

2010 Miata Facelift Pics by
Carbon
I just came across a link to the 2010 MX5 remodel on jalopnik.com:
http://www.km77.com/00/mazda/mx-5/2009/g01.asp
I think it's an improvement over the current version, which always looked
a little awkward to me.

Question on protocol by
Chris D'Agnolo
Hey guys, I've had a great time with the "Where are you and your Miata"
thread. I'd like to post the results. I've entered them into an excel
spreadsheet. What's the best way? I can attach the spreadsheet but not
everybody has excel. I can print it, scan it and send it as a .jpg
attachment. As...

Radio Knobs by
Blinky the Shark
Please excuse this Mazda query not being Miata-specific, but I've come up
dry with both Google's web search and its Usenet archive; this is the only
Mazda group I could find, and searching my server's retention of it, I see
nothing relevant here, either.
Needed: a knob for a '03 Tribute six-CD...

Miata Poll - What would you do if your Miata were gone today? by
pws[_1_]
If you were to lose your current Miata today, be it totaled, stolen,
whatever, and received enough money to cover a replacement, all the way
up to an optioned-out brand-new one, (say $30,000 to be safe), what
would you do:
buy an older miata and keep the larger money difference?
get a brand-new...

New Miata (er, MX-5) by
Frank Berger
My '96 died, as I reported earlier. It was dying a slow death, then the
engine gave out. I sold the remains today. I suspect it will be junked. I
also suspect it would pay somone to put an engine into it. I just wasn't up
to it. Tomorrow, I'm flying to LA to complete the purchase of a 2004...

1990 Miata with 1.6 with shimmy in possibly the driveshaft. by
Trent[_1_]
I have a '90 Miata with a 1.6, I have only had it for about a
month, I have started driving it on a regular basis to work and noticed
a shimmy feeling in the car, I took it and had the wheels balanced and
rotated over the weekend, but as I was coming in to work today, I
noticed the shimming is...

170 HP 2006 Miata : fact or fallacy ? by
[email protected]
Over the years, Mazda has been well known for making overstated claims
about the amount of horsepower produced by its Miata engines. I'm
wondering if the 2006 model really belts out 170 HP as they claim. I
would like to hear from mechanically knowledgeable people on this
subject. Thanks for any...

We're not the worst? by
XS11E[_3_]
I was sure Arizona would rank much worse than Californicate!
I'm not surprised that New York has the worst drivers per GMAC
insurance.
Take the test yourself he http://nationaldriverstest.com/

God d*mned SUVs by
Eric Baber
WARNING: This post serves no purpose other than to rant and rave.
Last night we went to our first antenatal class. Nice, small group (5
couples), all very friendly, how nice. As we all left I saw parked behind my
MX5, back-to-back so to say along the curb, one of those ludicrously huge
SUVs. I...

Bridgestone RE-11 short review by
Lanny Chambers
I finally decided to replace the 5 year old T1Rs--only half worn at 12k
miles, but too hard to trust anymore. Considering the car only sees
~1200 miles/year now, I ordered a set of RE-11s from Tire Rack.
Very impressive. They are heavier than the T1R, but are quiet and ride
almost as well, at...

YES! FINALLY!!! by
Don Bruder
Just caught a blurb on the local radio station. Washington State
Troopers are launching a special traffic enforcement operation.
Not the usual Ho-Hum crap of trying to screw people over for not
buckling up, or a crackdown on speeders or drunks - Although I agree
those are worthwhile efforts,...

Mystery part number by
AMStar
I have a tough one. I have a 1993 Miata, with the 1.6L (obviously).
There is a hose that runs from the thermostat housing down teh front of
the block, and connects to an "elbow" or "barb" or "tube" that comes
out of the block. What is the part number for that "elbow," "tube," or
"barb."
I have...

Ever done this in a miata? by
pws
First time ever, after leaving the dentist, (which is my excuse), I
opened the door of my red miata and thought "whoa, where's my Momo
steering wheel and boost gauge"?
It turns out my miata was parked 2 spaces down.
I have done this plenty of times in more generic cars, even mistaking
Camrys for...
