Greetings
Just discovered this site and as i'm owning my first house with a garden
i think it may be invaluable.
Anyway i have bought a house with a pond, not a big pond. It has a fish
mate 2000 fountain and just discovered the pump round the back (a fish

Need advice on cleaning Aquascape system pond by
Zayde
Our Aquascape pond is 3 1/2 years old, and now looks as if it needs
cleaning. The pebbles that cover the entire pond and streams are
covered in algae and look unsightly.
We have had two cleaning estimates: One proposed power washing the
rocks; the other said that the algae on the rocks should be...

One year on and still a brown, murky pond by
whiskybelle
Hi,
I excavated a 5 x 3m pond last April, lined it and filled it, bought
masses of oxygenating plants and potted up some pond plants but now one
year on, despite clearing all debris in the autumn and again this week,
the water is brown, stagnant and all but a handful of oxygenators are
dead.
I...

Electric blanketweed by
wibble
Taking off the netting today I have just had a good look at my pond
after the winter - and was dismayed to see that blanket weed appears to
already have started to sprout , which considering the coldness I find
amazing. Last year I had a real job keeping it under control. I am sure
its been asked...

Hi
I am a newbie here and I need some advice about filtration.
I have a small pond approx 2m x 1.5m x 0.5m with an underwater pump and
a small waterfall.
It has no fish(I may want to add a few later) but some lillies and a
couple of other oxygenating plants. Sounds pretty basic, I guess, but
my...

I have quite a large garden and am thinking of building a largeish
pond
(22m x 17m approx 430,000 litres using internate calculation tools)
My question is how do I fill it with water? (as...

Sulking Koi - why? by
Gedster
We have recently cleaned out our pond and pulled out some plants as the
pond was overrun with iris' and lillies. Before this our koi were
swimming about, feeding well and were almost tame, ie: approaching
surface and fedding well and sociable. Now however, they have "sunk" to
the back of the pond...
