Greetings and my SL1 vs SL2 dilemma by Frank
Hi all. I am new to this list and have a question. I have a 1992 SL1 which has been a good car overall. It has about 180000km and is in good working order except for the head gasket which has been leaking for about 2 years. I had planned on replacing this car, so never have had this fixed. The...

"Mixture too lean" both banks 1 & 2. This code kicked in when going up a steep hill in the mountains. Added can of fuel injector cleaner to gas tank - any other suggestions?

Radiator fan motor cost? by B. Peg
My '95 SL-2 seems to have an open somewhere (5 megs). Rotated relays and checked the 30 amp fuse. All good, just the motor isn't working. Seems it is shot. Any idea as to cost? I'm tempted to take it to the dealer and sit it out while they replace it. Should take too long I hope. B~

Instrument cluster getting off by SMMM
I need to replace some lights in the dash on a 2001 SL1. I got everything off but the instrument cluster. The thing I can't get off is the wire plug on the back. They didn't give you any extra wire so you can not pull it out very far. Called the dealer and they want $120.00 plus $5.00 for each...

Very high idle after transmission swap by zoogle
Hello, I just finished putting a 2000 SW2 back together and fired it up. The idle shot up to 4000 rpm and hovered between 3500-4000 for 10 minutes after which I shut the car off. Is this a normal re-learn procedure? I made sure to plug all of the sensors in as I was putting it back together. Any...

Sudden Drop in Gas Mileage by Scott W. Petersen
I had the same problem on a 94 SL2. After many times to the dealer I found out my oil level was not high enough. Topped it off and that was that. Could not believe it was that simple. Since then I always check the level. Check the obvious. I did have that sensor replaced as well as it was...

It's probably the alternator. But couldn't it be just a belt that has to be tightened or replaced?
