Cost of Tire Rotation and Balancing by
MLD
I just paid $79.99 to have 4 wheels balanced (Avalon). I did see a Dealer
special a while ago (since expired) for a price of $69.99. Haven't done
this in quite a while and recall it being much less costly.
Just curious--is this the current going rate everywhere else? My location is
in the
Boston...

Headlights by
Nicholas
My wife used to leave the headlights on some of the time when she left
our 2003 Merc Sable. Then the lights would run the battery down to
nothing.
Now my Chevy Aveo LT 2011 Turns OFF the headlamps (all lighting) as
soon as the key is turned off and removed (within one second).
Amazing IMPROVEMENT...

lack of g.m. cruze vehicles on the road by
jim beam[_4_]
remember that debate?? remember how the much-reported "fastest selling"
production figures didn't reconcile with the lack of those vehicles
being visible on the road?
well, now we know...

Fuel pump change by removing bed? by
stryped[_3_]
I have a 1996 chevy step side. I may have to change the fuel pump.
Someone said taking the bolts out of the bed and jacking it up is
easier than removing the gas tank. Is this true?

Scraped Rear Bumper by
J.B. Wood
Hello, all. Well, I guess it had to happen but someone scraped the rear
bumper this morning on my 2011 Ford Focus (not even a year old). There
are no dents or gashes but numerous scratches, the worst one being deep
enough to show the plastic below the paint. Can the deep scratches on
the...

Speedometer sensor by
Sonnich Jensen
Hi all
I am wondering where the speedometer sensor is placed or how I can
find it?
My idea is to build a small electronic kit to measure speed exactly
and show it digitally.

Two problems at once by
micky
OT for home repair??
Two problems at once.
A friend in a 2002 Nissan Frontier pickup skidded on wet leaves in
the rain, and hit the guard rail with the front right corner of his
car. The right front turn signal went out, and so did his tail
lights, dashboard lights, and the beeper that beeps...

I frequently put car into neutral going down steep hills on slippery roads,
be it front or rear wheel drive, helps a lot. But what do I do with four
wheel drive? Best to put it in two wheel drive ?

Best way to remove vintage cell antenna by
Ed Treijs[_2_]
My new-to-me 1997 Saab has an equally vintage cellphone antenna on the
hatch window. It's kind of cute in a yuppiesque way, but I'd prefer to
remove it. The base is a metal or plastic pad, maybe 2 cm square. I
assume there's some kind of adhesive.
What are my best means of removal? Something that...

1996 Silverado problems continued. by
stryped[_3_]
I currently have no code. However I took data on my scanner twice. The
truck sputtered and ran a little rough as soon as I left the driveway.
It seem though the further I went it started to get better. Truck has
had a catylist system efficiency below threshold for a number of
months. I assumed it...

Storage of clasic car? by
KG[_3_]
What is the common option of this group on the short term storage, 6-8
months, of a 1777 Mini? the Mini is on frame blocks which keep the
tires well clear of the concrete. The main question I have is the
engine and transmission storage, I turn the engine and manual tyranny
over with the starter,...
