Ford contour heating by
ebataitis
I had to run my defroster after a big rain in my area, and ever since
the selector will not go out of defrost (1998 Contour GL). The knob
moves as it should, but only defrost vents operate. The A/C works fine,
but only from the defrost vents. I have a day off coming up and if
anyone has run across...

88-91 C1500 Dash Replacement by
Rob
I have a 91 C1500 Silverado and the upper dash has pretty much
disintegrated from age and sun exposure. Have located a replacement
dash assy. from a salvage yard. Anyone have experience or tips for
replacement for years 88-91? Is this a weekend job, or better just to
buy a dash mat and forget it?...

He has a '91 Vette which has aluminum intake and heads. He has/is
removing the intake and some of the bolts are seized. Seized to the
point that he has twisted one off. Is there some recommended technique
to "un-seizing" these bolts? If not, what is the recommended...

Hi,
My Toyota Cressida GLX'91 with 136k Miles on it heats up while idling
after around 20 minutes of drive. But when the car starts moving again
the temperature reading goes below the halfway mark again. The
temperature increase during idling is rather quick till it hits the red
mark. I tried...

Why are car alarm starter relay normally closed? by
Sam Nickaby
Why are car alarm starter kill relay designed to be normally closed? It
would make practical sense to make the relay normally open because
when the crooks pull the alarm fuse or the alarm unit out of the car, the
car shouldn't be able to start. But in fact it's the opposite and crooks
knows about...

Need idea to protect car gadgets from voltage spikes. by
Sam Nickaby
I've heard of stories that the surges from the touching of the battery cables
together can destroy sensitive electronics. It's common to see people
run a motor and fumble with the jumper cables at the same time. This is
an accident waiting to happen. What is the best way to protect car
electronics...

2002 Taurus - Front defroster.....No Air! by
[email protected]
Hello.
My 2002 Taurus front defroster is not working. The blower motor is
strong, but no air is hitting the inside windshield. I sprayed contact
cleaner on the controller switch which did not help. I tried looking
under the dash but I can not locate the air flow diverter. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I have a 66 Impala SS ragtop with a small block chevy 350 and Turbo 350

I just like to drive it around now and then and go to a show.
My motor is making some very odd noise that we now believe to be in the
bottom end.
The few who have listened to it have not had a solid guess.
The last...
