Ford contour heating by ebataitis
I had to run my defroster after a big rain in my area, and ever since the selector will not go out of defrost (1998 Contour GL). The knob moves as it should, but only defrost vents operate. The A/C works fine, but only from the defrost vents. I have a day off coming up and if anyone has run across...

Why are car alarm starter relay normally closed? by Sam Nickaby
Why are car alarm starter kill relay designed to be normally closed? It would make practical sense to make the relay normally open because when the crooks pull the alarm fuse or the alarm unit out of the car, the car shouldn't be able to start. But in fact it's the opposite and crooks knows about...

Need idea to protect car gadgets from voltage spikes. by Sam Nickaby
I've heard of stories that the surges from the touching of the battery cables together can destroy sensitive electronics. It's common to see people run a motor and fumble with the jumper cables at the same time. This is an accident waiting to happen. What is the best way to protect car electronics...

Hello. My 2002 Taurus front defroster is not working. The blower motor is strong, but no air is hitting the inside windshield. I sprayed contact cleaner on the controller switch which did not help. I tried looking under the dash but I can not locate the air flow diverter. Any ideas? Thanks!
