Race Cars Tire Size: Rear Vs Front ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, My Grandson asked me the following question, and as I am not, frankly, into auto technology I thought I would take the liberty of asking here. "Why, so often, on many different types of race cars, are the rear wheels so much bigger ?" Didn't know what the right answer is.

Overheating problem by crispycritter
Hi, I have a 2000 Daewoo Nubira, and it has an overheating problem. It overheats on the freeway, after about 10-15 miles of driving at sustained freeway speed. When exiting the freeway, the gauge creeps up another couple of notches when I come to a full stop, then cools down to 1/2 way on the gauge...

Tacoma poor fuel mileage........... by Ratman
Own a 1996 4wd Tacoma with 2.7 four. I had a friend hook up his OB II scanner while I drove vehicle. Level ground in high gear, light throttle, ignition timing was shown to be 20-22 degrees. If I hammered it from about 1800-2000rpm in high gear, timing dropped back to 6 degrees. Not having found...

Saint Peter 2-17-72 by [email protected]
St. Peter says, " I again come through this child to teach you on this night, that you, too, must leave this dwelling, and you, too, must go forth and teach what the Saints have said to you on this night. And be aware of one thing, my children: To walk for God you must stand in truth. To walk with...

Compression leak into intake-any possibility this is not a valve? by supafly
I have a 93 Saturn SL1. One cyl leaks bigtime into the intake manifold. The other three cylinders leak just the tiniest bit. The plugs from the three "good" cylinder look black all over, but the plug from the leaky cylinder looks kind of oily and clean. The car runs good and idles fine except for...

2002 Caravan Front End Rattle by [email protected]
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan 3.3 liter V6. It is making a rattling noise that sounds like loose brake calipers. So, I had my brother put on new brake pads on the front and asked him to see if he could find out what was making the noise. He says it is in the rack and pinion steering. Is there a...

'93 Chevy Astrovan strange startup sound and smell by inneedofhelp
I'm not very knowledgeable about cars so I was hoping someone could help me diagnose this problem I've been having. When I try to startup the van, it turns over for longer than should before it actually starts up, about 5-10 sec's. Also there seems to be a smell of gasoline when I start it up. In...

Oil Filter Bypass Valve Question by Caprice85
Hi, I was changing the oil and filter today on my gf's 96 Nissan Sentra with the 1.6L engine. After I had the old oil filter off, I shone a flashlight up on the mating surface on the engine wall, and saw the hole in the center, which lets oil into the engine from the filter, and also 2 holes near...

89 Taurus V6 Problem by F. Dail Singleton, Jr.
Our Taurus has recently (on some days, not always) shown "surging" (oscillating idle speed) while in the middle of the warmup period but runs normally once hot and starts normally from cold also. Coincidentally(???), 3 times it has suddenly stalled while driving slowly during the warmup period. In...

Question about half shafts / CV boots by [email protected]
While doing some other work on my car, I noticed that there was play in in my halfshaft. I could grab the part between two of the accodian looking boots and could move it back and fourth (towards either boot). Is this normal? Does it make it bad? The boots themselves look fine (not torn). ...
