Removing 2000 Dakota fuel rail by stryped[_2_]
I am replacing the heads on a 2000 Dakota. How do you get the connect fitting off on the fuel rail? Mine is a type 1 clip I believe. It says to use a special tool: Snap On FIH-9055-1. Is this something I can get at Autozone> Is it just simply a common 3/8 quick disconnect fitting? I have not worked...

jack stands w/ flat saddle? by Nate Nagel[_2_]
anyone know where one could get a good pair of jack stands with flat, wide saddles? A friend of mine has *ONE* so I know they exist. It'd be nice to be able to more securely support my car without bending the bottom plates of my frame. thanks, nate -- replace "roosters" with "cox" to reply.

Huge Power Loss On My Ford F-250 by The Doctor
Recently, about 2 months ago, my 1996 Ford F250 started bucking when going up a long grade. At about that time, I noticed my mileage was getting worse. It went from a steady 13-15 mpg to about 6-8 mpg. I've driven this truck since new, so I know it very well. The best way I can describe it is it...

Do they still sell car radios with real sliders & knobs on the front? by OhioGuy
My wife and I recently found ourselves looking at that gift from the future (our future tax dollars) - the government stimulus check. We decided to use part of it to upgrade our car stereo receiver. Presently, our car stereo supports only cassette tape playback. We found one that supports...

A/C clutch frozen..what causes this? how much to repair? by [email protected]
I have a 2000 Mazda Protege and apparently the A/C clutch is frozen. This happened less than a week after a radiator flush at Jiffy Lube and I'm wondering if they did anything that could have caused this. >From what I've been reading this is going to cost at least $1000. Does this seem right? I...

Didn't expect to spin a bearing... by frank wight
Hiya, I started up my 4 cylinder 151 c.i. pontiac Iron Duke engine after letting the car sit for a year. It has 71,000 miles on it. My procedure was to install a freshly charged battery and just let the engine keep cranking to lubricate it. The engine cranked for over a minute before it...

Bizarro problem here. Vehicle is a 90 Grand Prix. Everything was fine yesterday, then today no headlamps, running lamps, or instrument cluster lamps. Fuses OK, voltage at fuses. My Haynes manual doesn't specify a relay in line with anything, but when the switch is moved to the parking or headlight...

I have a Mazda RX-8 that's not quite two years old and has almost 24k miles. One of the original tires has very little tread left so I'm considering replacing at least two and maybe all four. (The car has no spare.) These are Dunlop SP Sport 8090 225/45R18 91W and Goodyear has them for $360...
