Car Lighter Receptacle not working by
aaa
There are two of those in my car and neither one is working.
I'll probably take my car to mechanic to take a look as i need
it to power my gps. Any ideas on what the cause might be and
what roughly can i be expected to be charged for this.
thank you very much

Odometer fraud??? by
[email protected]
I have a 2004 Ford Explorer, it had nearly 20,000 miles on it when I
bought it two years ago. It now has 54,000 miles and I've already had
to replace the brakes. Now, I just spent $800 because the rear end
went out and the mechanic also found a rust bubble on the hood that
the paint hasn't peeled...

Dirty OIl in an Old Honda by
[email protected]
Hi;
My mother in law has our old 83 accord; she has not changed the oil in
ages and ages and it is filthy. The engine started making a rattling
sound around the belt area, like a pulley needed oil. The gas company
guy stopped her on the road, and told her she needed an oil change and
it would fix...

What kind of clutch problem is this? by
aamixy
My 95 Geo/Prizm's clutch has such a problem: at zero speed (full stop),
if I put into the first gear, I have to lift my left foot VERY slowly
(slower than normal) to let the clutch engage; otherwise the clutch/car
trembles. Once the car is on the road, putting into 3rd-5th gears has
no problem at...

Grinding while turning the Crank question. Need help please by
[email protected]
1992 Silverado, 4.3L Was driving home and the bearings on the
tensioner pulley broke and the pulley and belt both blew off. I
coasted to the exit and into a gas station. Opened the hood and saw
the pulley and belt missing. Truck was not yet overheated, thank
goodness. I replaced the pulley and belt...

95 GTP Catalytic Converter Question by
Aaron407
Hi everybody,
I have a 95 Grand Prix GTP, DOHC 3.4L, dual exhaust, and I've been
having the classic symptoms of a bad catalytic converter. I took it to
Midas and they said that if it is OBD I, the catalytic converter can be
removed and replaced by a straightpipe (which is actually legal here...

Command Start Problem - Help!! by
Aaron407
I bought a 95 grand prix a few months ago and only recently started
trying out the remote start. It had been previously installed so I have
no idea what all went into it other than the fact that it's Command
Start brand. I also have no idea if it ever worked in the first place.
The key for the...

2003 Grand Prix GTP - Performance Shifting? by
Aaron407
I recently learned about the performance shift ability that earlier
GTPs in this generation had. I've also read that the newer GTPs in the
generation (ie. 2003) still have the capability with a little wiring
to the ecu and an auxiliary switch. However, I've read that for this
installation, you need...

2003 Grand Prix - How do you get the ashtray out without breaking it???? by
Aaron407
I recently bought a 2003 Grand Prix GTP, and I'm looking to attach an
arm to the bottom of the ashtray to hold a satellite radio. Does
anyone know how to get the ashtray out? I've tried reaching under to
find some kind of release, but to no avail. Anybody have any insight?

03 Grand Prix GTP - Slight Grunting Sound When First Moving by
Aaron407
I recently purchased a 2003 Grand Prix GTP from a dealer in my city. I
took it for a test drive and everything seemed fine. However, now that
I've had it for a few days, I've started to notice something. After
the car has been sitting for awhile, it will let out a short (fraction
of a second),...

Throttle Position Sensor Enhancer? by
Aaron407
Hey everybody,
I'm looking for some fairly inexpensive mods for my 95 Grand Prix GTP
and I stumbled upon some forums talking about throttle position sensor
enhancers to increase the sensor voltage at WOT. Would one of these be
a good idea for a car like mine? Also, does anyone know where I...

95 Grand Prix GTP & ECM Reprogramming by

reprogrammed. Does anyone know of any reprogrammers in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan? I realize that there are probably very few of you from
Saskatoon, but I'd really...

Sprayed down engine, now car runs horribly! by
Aaron407
I looked under the hood of my car (95 Grand Prix GTP) and it was quite
dirty, so I decided to spray it down with the hose. After spraying it
down and waiting about an hour for it to dry, I decided to start it up.
Immediately there was a large 'clunk' sound (possibly a backfire?) but
it started up,...

Idle RPM sensitivity to signalling? by
Aaron407
I have a 95 Grand Prix GTP, and if I'm signalling at idle (in gear, my
foot on the brakeat a dead stop) my RPM decreases by about 50 RPM when
the signal light is lit and cycles back up when it turns off and
continues during the periodicity of the signalling. My dash lights also
slightly dim with...

Older GTP - How much low end power to expect? by

I have a 95 Grand Prix GTP, but I have only owned it for about a year

regular oil changes, as well as had the fuel and air filters replaced,
changed the spark plugs, had the catalytic converter changed, and had
the mufflers...

Help with Hesitation and Misfire Diagnosis by

Hey everyone,
I have a 95 Grand Prix GTP with a 3.4L DOHC, 248000km's. Lately (well,

regular) hesitation upon initial acceleration when the engine is both
cold or warm, and when at a stop, in drive, with my foot on the brake,
I'm...
