'88 Civic starting problem by Matt Ion[_1_]
Okay, just helped a buddy swap a new engine core (block and head - D15B2, if memory serves) into an '88 Civic with dual-point PGM-FI. Kept the original intake and throttle body, all wiring appears to be back where it belongs. Engine was running before, but there was a big nasty crack down the...

1999 CRV: Keeping clock bright when lites are on? by Thomas G. Marshall
I drive with my headlights on during the day (the '99 does not come with DTRL), but the clock dims out when the lights go on, because there was an assumption that lights only go on at night. Is there a configuration somewhere within the CRV that allows for "allways bright" on the clock? If not,...

91 Accord: Adjusting the Passenger Door by [email protected]
Hello, I am doing some restoration on a 91 Accord LX that I dinged up a bit. One of the things I am doing is replacing the right front passenger door. The best door I could find seems to be a 94 or so, as the trim is different. Anyway, the door seems to be similar enough, as the trim, inside...

2004 Accord EX Cruise Switch by Leah Ann
My cruise control switch is not staying punched in. This is the "Main" button on the steering wheel. I can compress the button, I hear the normal click, the light on the dash comes on, but when I let go I hear another click, the light goes out. If I hold the button down, I can set the cruise...

'01 Civic Headliner/Visor Deteriorating by [email protected]
The grey 'upholstery' on my 01Civic Coupe sun-isors and the interior headliner are deteriorating. The visors look like something has 'eaten holes' in it in several places. And the headliner cloth is beginning to seperate acoss the edge near both windshield and back window. I live in Florida and...

Silly unimportant question about oil by High Tech Misfit
I have been carrying a container of oil in the trunk of my car for a few years now. I don't do my own oil changes, and I have the container on hand in the event that the oil gets a bit low in between oil changes (which has not happened since I replaced the PCV valve 5 years ago). Anyway, there is...

Changing the air filter on a 2005 Civic Si by John Smith[_1_]
I'm not much of a car mechanic but changing air filters was never that hard in other cars I've owned. Looking at my 2005 Civic Si it seems to be slightly complicated. Has anyone replaced one of these filters or have any tips on how to do it? Thanks.

Replacement Glass ? Giant Glass: Opinions On ? by Robert11
ello: Have a 2006 Accord that looks like it will need a replacement front windshield due to a lot of rocks impacting it over the year. Would Giant Glass be O.K. to use ? I guess I'm wondering if they use "real" Honda approved glass, or an after-market type ?

Chipsaway UK by davea
Has anyone used the company Chipsaway for minor bodywork repairs? I've heard they are able to repair most minor scratches and dents on your car at your home. Anyone got any ideas of cost and are they any good? Any recommendations for car repairers in Ayrshire, Scotland (who can repair at your home)...

Collapsed PCV Hose - '94 Accord EX by Gary Kaucher
1994 Honda Accord EX I just noticed that the PCV hose was collapsed while idling, as if there was a vacuum on it and the walls of the hose were not strong enough to hold the vacuum. I will replace it and the PCV valve. What kind of problems can this cause? Thanks, Gary

06 Civic Mileage by Jay A
Well after being an '06 Civic owner for 3 months now, I can honestly say that the mileage in this thing is so overrated it's a shame. EPA states 30 city 40 highway but in reality, it depends more on whether the air conditioning is on than anything. Yes I have gottan close to 40 (actually about...

Honda brake pads? by Elle
Honda OEM pads do not cost significantly more than high quality aftermarket pads. From my reading, they are made for Honda brake rotors and so will yield less dust and noise and likely less wear on the rotors. I recommend purchasing them from www.slhonda.com or www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...

98-02 Accord CD volume jump/steps too great by FunkyKev
Calrification. Just added a 6-CD to my 98 accord that came with single disc. On the particular unit I bought used I notice that the volume steps from point to point on the knob/steering column are a bit too drastic. Nothing major. Just that i often wish that there was a notch inbetween where it...

CRX HF weird stuttering problem by djathens
I have an '88 CRX HF with 175,000 miles on it. The engine shudders pretty violently when the accelerator pedal is held at a particular spot in its range of travel. It occurs in any gear, at any RPM. It is more noticeable at lower RPMs probably due to the lower inertia of the reciprocating mass. If...
