Front-wheel drive vs RWD by
The Real Bev[_5_]
It used to be that with RWD you'd brake going into a curve and
accelerate going out to maintain traction via weight shift. It seems
like it ought to be just the reverse with a front wheel drive car, but
that just doesn't feel right.
What's the truth here?
And a bonus question: Is the spoiler...

OT 8N tractor wont start. (Been trying for over a year). by
[email protected]
I have been working on this thing off and on for over a year and the thing is still not running. I started into it last year hoping to be able to use it as a plow for my driveway. I still can not start it. To make it what I thought would be more reliable, I replaced the following: gas tank, spark...

Gearshift Location by
Bob[_53_]
Hello,
Just curious:
Do any of the new family size sedans, or SUV's have as an option
(anymore) having the gearshift on the steering wheel column ?
Or has that totally gone away now ?
Any cars offer it ?

Tire Mileage ? by
Bob[_53_]
Hi,
I realize there are a zillion variables involved, but
typically what might one expect these days for decent mileage on a
brand name, "high quality" all-weather tire ?
Live in New England, so some snow in the winter.
Perhaps 2/3 of driving is on highway. Subaru Outback.

Swimming recovery by
[email protected]
I took my Audi A4 for a swim lately in a fairly deep pond.
Got about 10" deep I guess, enough for dirty water to get into the cabin
so the comfort control unit that some teuton have "thoughtfully" has placed under the
driver's doormat is likely out of commission (it've pulled it, disassembled it...

Reality hits below the belt :-( by
The Real Bev[_5_]
So I finally decided it was time to take the '88 Caddy to the knackers.
Two rejections out of hand, one offer of $115 if I drive it in ($65 if
they have to pick it up), and I'm waiting for a callback from the
Cadillac-only wrecker. Damn thing has 90K miles (engine and trans in
what's...

2016 Honda Odessy. by
JR[_8_]
Someone I know wants to buy a 2016 Honda Odessy within a week or two, the car at a local dealership is priced at about $22,000. Wouldn't it be better to wait untill January 2017? I wonder how much they could save if they wait untill January 2017?

Wipers won't park properly by
Frank
The wipers on my '96 Cavalier work fine when it's dry. I can use them
to knock the fog off in the morning and they'll park properly against
the bottom of the windshield when I turn them off. But when it's
actually raining, they'll park way up on the windshield when I drive
out of the rain and...

91 Volvo power window switch by
Tim R
In Virginia you fail annual inspection for the driver's power window, though none of the others have to work.
Of course that is the only switch that doesn't work. After disassembling, cleaning, and polishing, I got it to work intermittently. Swapping with a known good switch I finally found...
