They click the add reply, why the post comes up, LOL.
BTW, this is an unmoderated part of the AF subforums, although I've
seen locked subjects, so it IS moderated at times, go figure the
non-sequiter.

Oil Independence Day 2006 by
Linda
High gas prices have created a new group of people -
"pump grumblers."
When pumping our high priced gas, we grumble words of
resentment, while feeling powerless. We need gas, so
we pay the price. Standing as a individual we are
powerless, but together our voices would be heard.
America is a strong,...

Fluid changes? by
salad
Hi. I have a Geo Metro convertable and just started driving it. For
about 4 years I haven't driven it except to get the car smogged.
Basically it just sat around.
What would you recommend doing to the car, what things should be
checked, what fluids should be changed?
I plan on getting a tune-up...

A/C help needed by
Steve Walker
Vehicle is a 1995 Dodge Caravan, 3.3 engine. Bought the cheapo r134 kit
for a possible refill, as that's what is in it. Hooked up gauge, engine
running, A/C on, no compressor action, got 2-3 lbs. pressure on low
side. Started to introduce R134, until compressor kicked on. (almost 1
14 oz. can.)...

'96 Mystique stalling problem by
TeGGeR®
I have a person unfamiliar with Usenet who is asking me about an issue of I
know nothing, so I'd like to ask those here who do.
She's got a '96 Mercury Mystique with 150K miles on it. Up to now, it's not
exhibited any problems, but recently has begun stalling in a manner that
suggests the...

AC by
[email protected]
I have a small studio - around 650 sq feet. I try to ask about energy
economy using my central air. There are two conflicting theories
1 Theory that most people follow : keep the ac all the time - when you
leave, just increase the temperature
2. Theory that I follow : when I leave I switch it off...

substuting improper lug nuts by
[email protected]
An elderly woman asked me to fix up her one ton Dodge (1972) van for
the road. The previous mechanic insists that the use of lug nuts used
for mag rims (very long shanks, designed to clamp to the outside of a
mag rim with DEEP holes) is 'ok' for steel rims with shallow holes.
I spent more time...

Tires, tyres, cauchos by
I have used Michelins for a number of years..
Never really had a beef with them. I normally got great treadlife, good
handling,
and a quiet ride.
Just noticed my wife's car has a sidewall cut, and the tread is getting thin
on
her Mich's after about 40,000 miles... Time to re-shoe...
After...

2001 Ford Taurus Air Conditioner by

Hi All,
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus that I have been very happy with until
recently. A few weeks ago, when it first started to get hot, I turned
on my air conditioner for some relief. The air was nice and cold for a
few minutes, then all the sudden I could tell it was no longer working,
since the...
