Brake light by
Roger
Hi all, my brake light comes on for a few mins. periodically (2000
Accord Ex V6). The fluid isn't low. Anyone know what else in the brake
system can be indicated by the light, apart from the fluid?
Thanks,
Rog

Brake Light Comes on by
[email protected]
Mine is an 97 Nissan Altima SE. It runs fine, but recently I see that
the brake light on the dashboard comes on during mornings when it is
cold. It does not come on in the afternoon or in the evenings. Only in
the morning, it does. I live in Atlanta, which is not too cold. I got
my brake inspection...

Brake lights on 98 Honda Civic not working by
[email protected]
I recently bought a 1998 Honda Civic DX and discovered that my brake
lights are not working.
I began troubleshooting the problem by first replacing the brake light
switch (under the brake pedal) which didn't help and then replaced the
third brake light bulb (which was burnt out) but that didn't...

Brake lights, door lights and trunk light come on by
[email protected]
Hi,
I have a V6 2000 Honda Accord and yesterday saw that the brake lights,
doors lights and the trunk light all stay on after starting the engine.
This persisted for some time and then went away. I hear a "humming"
sound now which I think changes with the rpm.
Has anybody seem similar problem and...

Brake Pad Thickness Variation Questions by
Caroline
For the first time ever, I checked the thickness variation of my 1991 Civic's
front brake rotors (NON-abs). I used a micrometer whose calibration I trust. It
actually reads to the nearest 0.0001 inch, but I have rounded to the nearest
0.001 inch below. The minimum thickness required on these rotors...

Brake pads by
dxmah
Hi all:
I'm anticipating the front brake pads on my 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid will
have to be replaced soon. What's the differences (pros/cons) between
semi-metallic and ceramic pads? W
hich one should I consider? Do brand names (e.g. Raybestos) really make a
difference? Thanks for any input!

Brake Pedal Fade by
DavidB
If I press on the brake pedal of my 2002 CR-V with moderate but steady
pressure, I can get the pedal to go all the way to the floor. I
replaced the master cylinder and the pedal still acts the same. I am
curious how many other owners can get their brake pedal to fade to the
floor if they try. Try...

Brake pedal traavel after caliper replacement by
[email protected]
I just had the rear calipers replaced on my '95 civic si. I
immediately noticed when braking that my brake pedal seemed to sink
about twice as far to the floor as it used to. I've owned this car
since new and have never experienced this much brake pedal travel. The
e-brake also pulls all the way...

Brake problem by
Philip Trenholme
Brake pedal sinks partially when applied going down a hill at slow
speed. A pump or two will bring it back up. This has been going on for
a few weeks. No noticible loss of fluid in brake reservoir. Could a
faulty booster cause this?
Car is 94 Accord wagon w/ABS brakes.

1994 honda accord EX - I removed the left rear caliper and noticed that one
half of the inner pad was glazed and the other half was brand new. Could
this indicate a bad caliper.

I have a 1999 1.6 Civic Vti Coupe with which I am having brake problems.

Brake question by
Nasty
Are the brake disk retaining screws necessary? I had to drill mine out and
one source said they are only in there to hold the disc in place during
assembly at the factory.
As usual, thanks in advance.

brake questions by

Was replacing the pads on my 99 Accord and had some difficulty pressing the
rear brake pistons back.
The rear brake pistons are somewhat different from front pistons. They have
a slot in them. I ended up turning the piston clockwise using a larger
screwdriver (in the slot) in order to get it...

Brake repair problems by

I have a 98 Civic DX that I have been rebuilding for the past year. I
took the car to two mechanic shops, and both stated that the brakes
needed replacement, front and rear. I live in an area where the
winter snow and salt cause heavy corrosion.
This week I replaced rear drums, shoes and...

Brake Replacement Tutorial by
[email protected]
Rear brakes on my 98 prelude are close to the metal.
I saw a tutorial on the web for Acura disk replacement.
I thought it was well done as it talked about cleaning the slider
bolts. Can't find it now. Anybody know the site address?
thanks
