Civic Door door won't open by
linuxgeek1
I recently got home from work and the driver door would not open on my
1998 Honda Civic LX. Neither the inside handle nor the outside would
work. I spent a while reading on google groups and looking around
online but didnt find much. I finally got it open, so I thought I
would post my findings,...

Civic DX engine swap help by
[email protected]
The engine in my Honda Civic Dx special ed. overheated due to a cracked
head gasket, and I'm faced with replacing the engine. I thought maybe
now is a good time to get an upgrade engine, but being largely
uneducated on the subject, I decided to look for some advice as to what
engines are available,...

Civic engine wash by
nash123
Hi,
Own a 99 Civic EX. I am an engineer and had to visit construction
sites for inspection. My engine has a lot of mud, it is covered and
needs a good wash.
What is the best way of doing this? Is pressure washing OK? How about
electrical and other hoses/connections? Should I do a wash when...

Civic EX '97 - trailing arm bushing question - any experts? by
[email protected]
Hi -
my '97 civic has done 74,000 miles. Quite well maintained, regularly
serviced, etc.
During my last oil change, the dealer advised that I replace the
trailing arm bushings, which will make me poorer by $500. I drive my
car infrequently, and would like to avoid this expense unless it
threatens...

Civic Ex auto locks - has this happened to anyone? by
Acertaingirl
Last week I washed and waxed my 2004 Civic EX for the first time. As I was
running the towel over the car near the rear door lock, all 4 locks were
triggered closed. Can static electricity cause this to happen? Luckily the
keys weren't in the car or I would have been locked out (temporarily...

civic eyes smokey... by
Ian
Hi,
Honda reintroduced their Civic in 2004 with few exterior changes.
Among them are "Smoked Front Headlight".
How does a "Smoked" headlight differs with "Non-Smoked"? Any photos...
What could be the advantage?
Thanks

Civic for tall people: pedal/seat customizations? by
flo money flo problems
Hi,
I'm tall and have found that I can't find a comfortable seat position
in my civic that allows me to reach both the pedals and steering
wheel comfortably. If my hands are at a comfortable position, then my
legs are scrunched up, and if my legs are at a comfortable position,
then my arms need...

Civic front strut installation by
John Clavin
I had some new dampers/shocks installed in the front struts on my '98 Honda
Civic a few months ago after fighting with tire wear problems, mostly
cupping. The dealer was no help on this and thought it was just bad tires
(Michelin X-One's). So I had some KYB GR-2s installed at a shop I...

Civic GX by
[email protected]
I've been running some numbers on the Civic GX and... they don't look
good. I was considering purchasing one and a Phill so I could refuel
the car at home. But looking at last month's natural gas bill, this
seems like an expensive proposition. Here's what I did.
My last natural gas bill was...

Civic GX by
BRaymond
Has anyone else in this group bought a Civic GX? I purchased a 2005 GX
and installed the Phill station last week. I am completely thrilled
with the result. I no longer have to go to a gas station and the fuel
I "pump" in my garage is about $1.30 per gallon.
One of the best vehicles Honda has...

Civic Head Gasket by
Chopface
Hello,
I am wondering what the symptoms of a failing head gasket are. I know
that if you have coolant in your oil, or oil in your coolant that is a
sign that it has already failed. Can a compression check tell you
anything, or are there too many causes of low compression in a cylinder
to nail it...

Civic headlight replace? by
BE
Howdy, 2000 Civic 4 dr DX here, passenger side headlight lens cover is
looking scratched and getting opaque. I thought it might be some spray up
from road paint or other such thing and tried to clean with many solvents to
no avail. I've always kept a covering of rainx on it, if that...

Civic hesitation problem... by
Matt Ion
Buddy of mine just rebuilt (with all OEM parts!) a D16A6 with PGM-FI for
his '89 Civic (including the appropriate computer and wiring harness).
Got it installed, turned the key, engine turned 3 times... and fired
right up. Very nice. Idles smoooooth and quiet...
But when he gives it any gas,...

Civic Hood Insulation by
duckbill
I can't get wax to stay on the hood of my 95 Civic EX with a "Forest
Green" color. Between the sun and the engine heat, the hood heats up
after shutdown. Did Honda ever make hood insulation for the 92-95 Civic?
I seen a lot of Honda's in the salvage yard and have never seen one with
it. Also,...

Civic Hood Latch Handle Broke by
[email protected]
Group,
The handle for the hood latch on my Civic came off in my hand. The
main plastic hande broke off and left some of the plastic back on the
release cable end. I have to use plyers to open it but I think this
would turn a potential buyer off when I sell.
How do I change the handle? ...

My 95 Civic's horn is kind of weak and I'm looking to add a second horn

the bumper. I'm not sure if the existing wireing and relay will handle...

Civic Hybrid by

The other day, I had an opportunity to drive a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid
from Albany, NY to Watertown, NY and back...about 360 miles total. My
personal car is a 1998 Honda Civic sedan, so the cars were quite
similar in size and feel. This is the first time that I have ever had
an extended ride in a...
