used tire question by
Edwin T.
Have always bought used tires for the older vehicles that ive ever owned.
Mostly cheap and still the tires were functional and as long as the car
drove decently, I never cared if they were used. However, nowadays many
used tire places are telling me that the tires made for 14inch rims are
rare,...

2012 Camry: Eyesore under the hood by
[email protected]
Recently looked at some 2012 Camrys at a local Toyota dealer and was
somewhat shocked to see that none of the power plants had exhaust
manifold covers. While the average Joe/Jane probably wouldn't notice
anything amiss, this was the first thing I noticed after popping the
hood.
The salesman...

Idling problem Audi A6 2.6 V6 1996 Petrol by
Jens[_2_]
My car some times has an idling problem when cold (<0 deg cel).
The engine rev's goes up and down when idleling (500 - 2000 revs) and the
climate system thinks that the engine is hot so it puts the blower on full
speed in order to heat up the cabin.
This tells me that a temperature sensor is...

2005 Lincoln Town Car window button: where to get? by
The Derfer[_2_]
A button on my window switch (driver-side, front)
cracked off. Switch itself is fine.
Without buying a whole new switch, where do I buy
a single button (just the cap, or top, that snaps in)?
Anyone know of a source?
Thank you.

engineering question for nate the "engineer" by
jim beam[_4_]
dear nate, since you're an engineer, and since engineers know all about
stress, strain, and the triaxial resolution thereof, why does "cup and
cone" fracture happen?
<http://classes.mst.edu/ide120/lessons/tension/fractures/steel/index.html>
hint: the question contains a honking great clue.
