Just got off the phone with a guy who owns a '90 K2500 Chevy P/U. He said he hit a bump and both windows dropped into the doors. I had him look into the door and he says he can see the regulator moving but the channels are rusted. Looking in my crash book and on a couple parts sites and the...

Glow Plugs by [email protected]
Do glow plugs wear out like a spark plug or just go out like a light? To rephrase can a glow plug still have continuity but be less effective than a new one?

Glowing Headers on a Chevy 400 small block by [email protected]
I have an '84 Sierra with a 400 small block in it. Its from a '72 so its low compression, but I am having problems with glowing headers. I just very recently took the intake off to fix a leaking rear gasket so I put the distributor back in but I put it in exactly where it was before. I had it...

gluing glass to neoprene? by micky
I need to glue glass to neoprene or maybe it is is some other black, glossy, flexible, rubber-looking substance. What glue etc. should I buy? Is it worth trying to rough up the glass? If so, should I use sandpaper, emery paper, etc? I don't know yet if I can clamp the two things together.

GM 12 bolt axle bearings question by [email protected]
Hi all. Vehicle is a 1975 Chevy 3/4 ton truck with a regular 12-bolt rear axle. It's making a grinding noise that's dependent on wheel speed, so I imagine it's one or more of the bearings that hold up the axleshafts and/or differential. (Jacked up rear of truck, left trans in park, spun wheels so...

GM made a limited run of Chevrolet fleet cars with "ACRS" way back in 1973, 7 years before the Europeans had airbags. Then in 1974 it was offered on Cadillacs and Buicks as an option for people who hated seat belts. But then what happened? Did few people order those airbags, and they faded away...

The engine is in an 1990 Isuzu Trooper II. Removed all the hydralic lifters to track down the clattering noise, and found the culprit. It was only one bad lifter out of twelve. The others look perfect. The push rods look straight, and the rocker arms are all good. The one bad lifter is damaged on...
