GM auto transmission ratings by [email protected]
For GM automatic gearboxes, the second number is supposed to be the vehicle weight rating, but what units? I noticed that Cadillac Catera (rebadged Opel) had a 4L30E gearbox, but the GMH Commodore Calais (very similar car) got 4L60E.

GM automatic gearbox ratings - how meaningful? by [email protected]
Supposedly the last 2 digits are a load rating ... but what units? But how come a 4L60E could withstand and LS1 engine, but the 6T65E was fuggered by the smaller LS4 with several percent less maximum torque?

GM Full spool? by 51_racing
