GM, misfire code: how do they detect this? by
ge
My brother's Safari failed the NYS inspection due to engine codes -
specifically, "#6 cylinder misfiring." I'm curious as to how they
detect this, particularly that they're able to isolate it to a
particular cylinder. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
TIA,
George

GM3.1L no spark by
boardjunkie
As per sublect line.....no spark. Verified crank sensor working (.7v
pulses), swapped ignition module with a known good one, and have 12v at
the module input. I know from past experience that a bad coil van
completely knock out the spark on the rest of the coils....tried using
1 coil at a time with...

trouble.
The van died on me out of town, and the shop I found, as part of their
diagnostics, replaced the crankshaft sensor. It didn't help, so they
put the old one back in. The problem ended up being something with the

My 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Pickup with 60,700 miles had severe brake

I put it in for service at a very trusted repair center.
He called and said my entire brake system was rusted and in dangerous
condition.
I do mostly highway driving and usually need brakes at 90,000 to
100,000 mile.
This...

I've got a 2000 GMC Sonoma with a heater that works when it feels like it.

At times, the heater seems to have water flow through it but maybe
restricted, because when heat is turned on, it's hot but cools quickly like
it has...
