Gumout Engine Flush...Good or Paint Thinner? by [email protected]
I saw the Jugs at my Pep Boys. I'm using Auto-Rx on my Corolla now, though I think it isn't strong enough. Has anyone used Gumout Engine Flush? Can it completely screw up my engine or is it a magic bullet for sludged engines? Any other suggestions for flushing: Schaeffers Neutra 131...??

GURU SOUGHT - DIODE ALTERNATOR TEST by Alabastar
Vauxhall Astra 1.4i MPi I realise theres a possibility that I can probably fix this problem easily by fitting an alternator, but I'm really just curious if there is any gurus who can explain this to me. After a journey of about 30 minutes, my battery warning lamp comes on very very faintly. This...

Gutting catalytic converter by Mark W
Is the gas flow through a factory converter better with, or without, the honeycomb filling? Some people say it's good to remove all or part of the insides, others say that will make the gases stall in the chamber. But some cars have an expansion chamber as a silencer anyway, don't they?

Guys, I *have* to run a front plate... by Nate Nagel[_2_]
I'm ****ed at GM right now... not homicidally ****ed, mind you, just a little more so than the usual low level annoyance at their craptastic products. However, this is an example of why people continue to think that their products are cheap junk. My company car is a current body Impala, it's...

H or V Rating On Tires ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, A general question re the H or V speed rating on passenger "all season" tires: Everything else remaining the same,is there any difference in snow conditions, or on ice, for one rating over the other ? e.g., might the different compound in one be softer, and thus "a bit" better on snow...

H2 Combustion-Booster Claimed by [email protected]
Here's one I just read: http://www.canada.com/montreal/montrealgazette/news/story.html?id=cfe... Some fellow is claiming he has a small device that will boost combustion efficiency and save drivers lots of money, while reducing emissions. Obviously, plenty of claims have been made before, so I'm...

Had Radiator Core Replaced and Still Overheats? by [email protected]
I have a 1990 Mits van that started overheating. I had the radiator re-cored and on the way home it started overheating again. Of course I was a bit surprised...I will check to make sure that the radiator shop actually replaced the core (it was dark when I picked up the van but it did seem to be...

Hairline Crack in Head 96 Nissan Sentra by Caprice85
Hi, I found a hairline crack going from front to back down the middle of the head on this car a month ago. It has 177K on it. I don't know how long the crack has been there. When cold, I could see a tiny trickle of green antifreeze oozing out of one part of the crack .. When hot, the crack has...

half-shaft replacement, ATF loss? ('04 Cavalier) by George[_23_]
Our '04 Cavalier automatic has what sounds like a failing CV joint. This car does not have a dipstick for the ATF - you check the level by removing a plug on the side of the case. Just to be prepared, I'd like an idea of how much ATF I'll lose when I pull the shaft out. (Passenger side, if it...
