A few questions about iRacing. by
Bob Loblaw
I'm really on the fence about joining. I'm more of a careful driver than a
fast driver. My main concern is about car access. Is it possible to drive
the Radical immediately after the Solstice or do i have to go through the
Skip Barber first? Is car access only affected by your safety rating or...

a future for casual racers on PC vs. consoles? by
Magnulus
OK, this group is full of hardcore GPL racers, but since the
comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action is completely taken over by first person
shooter drones, I thought I'd ask he
Is there a future for casual racing games on the PC? Maybe even
something that could be played with a gamepad (I do have a...

A GPL Christmas by
Michael Sisson
I guess I am the bearer of the torch, again. ;)
(Has anyone out there ever written anything like this for other sims? Is
GPL alone in the devotion of its fans? Someone needs to write 'A Racing
Legends Christmas')

A little bit OT by
DB
Rant on:
What the hell is it with you webmasters out there forcing people to create
a login account to access downloads on your websites ? Is there any
reason to do this ?
Life is just to damn complicated these days and I get the feeling that I am
not alone in my belief that this practice is...

A poor quality example of why GT5 is so addictive by
Andrew MacPherson[_2_]
My cheap LCD filmed by my lousy camera... Not a recipe for success. But maybe my
barely controlled lap at the Ring will show non PS3 owners why I have been
converted by the Sony Borg.
So much of GT5 is a disappointment. But this really does feel as good to drive as
it looks in the...

A request by
Larry
Folks,
I'm usually pretty up for most OT stuff here, but I think we've gone over
the edge just a bit with the political stuff.
No one's fault. It just happens. The one truth is that NO ONE here will
benefit from it being here on RAS. Period.
I think Mitch's initially good-intentioned post on...

A software Triplehead. by
Bob Loblaw
Apparently, there is a software replacement for the Matrox Triplehead2Go. It
requires 2 PCI-E cars but supports widescreen resolutions.

Has anyone here used it?

A world without GPL????????? by
Byron Forbes
With rFactor now the most central part of sim racing, it seems to me
that one of the hurdles for it to overcome is convincing the public of the
authenticity of it's "Mods" - both the tracks and particularly the cars that
will be depicted via rFactor but created via 3rd parties. Will it be
perceived...

Ok, so you install the demo, don't bother with the calibration etc, and
just see what works & what doesn't. Out on the track the feel and graphics
suck you in, the drive feels pretty good, and... well, ok, you're not
fast, but then you never were, so why worry? Are you having fun?
Yes :-)
