Battery Dead - Advice Appreciated by
[email protected]
Hi,
My 1997 Saturn has a new battery installed 3 months ago.
I don't drive much, and it started perfectly normally the last time I
drove it a week ago. (It's been a cold week with average temperature
just below freezing - not too bad really).
This morning when I attempted to start it, it was...

Alloys and bad roads dont mix by
marx404
I'm getting to really hate Saturn Alloy rims. My '94 and '02 had slightly
warped rims that had to be road-force balanced to keep the ride perfectly
smooth, a driving need that I'm un-conditional about. Those rims were warped
by the previous owners, I bought the cars used. Thought now that I have...

#3 misfire on 2000 SW2 by
Paul[_18_]
I had a guy at the local AutoZone pull codes on my 2000 v-6 wagon.
I've got a couple O2 sensors out and a #3 misfire. I figure I should
change the plugs. The problem is I can't even see the plugs. What's
involved? I looked at a Hane's manual for the car, but it was no help
glad I didn't buy it....

Freezing window washer by
Coasten1
Hello
I have a 2007 Vue AWD. It seems that whenever the temperature drops around
20 degrees, my washer fluid does not spray on either front or back windows.
I know the fluid is not frozen. (at least in the tank) My mom has a 2007
Ion and it did the same thing. They replaced the fluid pump in...

Who knew that MPG was in there somewhere? :) by
No Name
Well - 2 weeks ago I got a speeding ticket with my '06 Vue for doing 78mph.
Where I live (LI) that's the average speed everyone does and it was just my
unlucky day to get singled out of the pack. I've been driving since 1987
and have never gotten a ticket before, so you figured he would have...

L-300 New Tires?? by
[email protected]
OK I need your help! I was at my dealer this past weekend getting an Oil
Change and they said that I only have 15% thread on all my tires and
they need to be replaced. They gave me a quote of around $700! for all
four replacements with an alignment, and labor. This seems a little high
to me, so I...

Water Injection - What does it do? by
Buzz
I remember years ago people were putting water injection kits on their
engines. I beleive it was a water tank with a hose running into
either the air intake near the carb or maybe directly into the intake
manifold. A small oriface metered the amount of water that was sucked
in.
What did it do...

Engine having trouble keeping steady coolant temp by
MPost
I have a 1993 SC-2 with 105K on it. Up until now, the temperature gauge has
always been quite steady in all types of weather and driving conditions,
typically staying just below the mid-point, or just above it. I just noticed
that the engine runs hot when I have the AC on (it goes over 3/4 of the...

1993 SC-2 Power Window Won't Close by
MPost
I have a 1993 SC-2 with power windows. Just recently, my passenger's side
window started closing slowly (it seems fine when opening) and then totally
refused to close today. For now, I just want to get the window closed so
that I don't get soaked in the rain and will fix it correctly...

96 SL2 Post-repair problem by
Fantine
I have a 96 SL2 that drives fine and has had very few problems over the
years. Got SES light, brought it in to a local and (supposedly) reputable
repair shop. Ended up having to replace the valve gasket cover. While the
car was there, so we decided to get some maintenance done because the car...

Ignition is locked by
momcat21
Drove the car into the parking lot, turned it off, took out the key. Went
back the next day - key won't turn the ignition. Steering is locked. It's
like somebody switched keys (impossible since all three keys in the family
won't turn the ignition). Steering wheel is locked, car in park,...

Slick 50? by
Barry Schnoor

Any thoughts on using an oil additive, or one of those "high mileage" oils
to help prevent oil burnoff? How about slick 50 or DuPont's Greased
Lightning?
I'm using twice as much oil as I was when this car was brand new...2 quarts
between oil changes instead of just...

Saturn Safety, is Great!! by
[email protected]
The other day I got rear-ended on the Freeway by a large work Van.
Everyone in front of me slamed on their brakes and so did I but the Van
did not! It felt like a train had hit my L300, and I thought the worst
when I got out of my Car. But when I looked at my rear bumper it only
had a few scratches...

Redline ION test drive by
marx404
Finally, I got a few minutes to drive the new ION Redline. Picked out a nice
empty winding service road and got it up into 4th gear. The shirt throw
shifter just snapped into each gear almost effortlessly. Man, I cannot
remember having such a thrill behind the wheel of a sport compact in a...

1998 SL2 Automatic Transmission Problem by
Erick Carpenter
Got a bit of weirdness going on.
The transmission has always been a bit slow when kicking into reverse.
If the car has just been started or has been idling for a bit it'll take
a quick second to kick in, but not a delay I would call out of the
ordinary for changing gears.
After it has been...

EGR Again? Died at stop light 98 SL Manual 113K by

Would EGR cause car to die at stop light?
I posted a few weeks ago about getting the SES and an EGR code. A couple of
kind people advised about cleaning the valve myself. I haven't done it yet
because it has been a couple of weeks and the SES has not come on again.
I have been noticing the...

Winter and the Ion by
bosco took
I live in Toronto where it frequently drops below 0 degrees fahrenheit.
I am considering getting a 2005 Ion2. I would appreciate any and all
feedback as to whether there any problems starting an Ion in such
temperatures. I own a 2001 SL2 and never have had a problem

94 SL2 Persistent problems... by

94 Saturn SL2
Aprox. 97,000 miles on it. Engine seems fine and so does the manal
transmission. About 2 months ago the SES light started coming on whenever
I would be idle at a red light or something and the temperature gauge was
at 3-4/16's. As soon as I'd start driving, the SES light would go off...
