Front end noise question by
Mark[_16_]
First, I know this is a long post sorry. Thank you for taking the time
to read it and give advice.
"95 Saturn SL-2- 80K miles
I have an odd issue. I've been a shade tree mechanic for 20 or more
years. Never seen this one and it's really putting a teaser on my brain
trying to find it. I have a...

1995 SL1
Low mileage 90k, but lots of short trip driving.
Working on a problem with my Emergency lights
all turn signals and brake lights are fine
all fuses show good (continuity)
When I push the hazard switch down, the relay just buzzes
(intermitantly) I'm thinking the switch in the top of the...

Timing belt inspection by
Ted Wong
Hello:
I've got about 110K miles on the original timing chain. Is there a
relatively trivial way to inspect the chain, or to diagnose it for
wear? Judging from the Chilton repair manual, opening up the engine and
doing a visual inspection is quite an involved procedure, especially
for an amateur...

2007 Cupholder Designs by
Rich
I can't believe I'm contributing to this retarded (and crossposted) thread,
but I've always liked the cupholders in my Maxima. There are two in the
front, differently sized. One fits a can/20 oz soft drink cup, and the
other can fit something with a slightly larger base like a thermos or
plastic...

Sheesh what happened to Saturn? by
Scott Stoddard
So I went to buy a new Saturn. Based on my previous experience with Saturn I
was expecting a pleasant, straight forward, purchasing experience. You
know, all the things I used to associate with Saturn, priority on customer
satisfaction, no hassle pricing, everybody pays MSRP etc.
So I buy a new...

1999 SL2 rear brakes by
[email protected]
Hello,
I have an '99 SL2 and need to replace the rear brakes (I've already
replaced the front disc brakes). I have seen a rear drum brake model
in a classroom setting and have a spring tool, but I have not worked on
an actual car (i.e., there was no parking brake on the classroom setup,
but I...

what do you think? by
Bob[_18_]
Hi.
I have a '96 Saturn SL1 sedan.
For the winter here in New Hampshire,
I have studded snow tires on the front P195 70 R 14 on the front and
regular P175 65 R 14 on the back.
I drive on rural roads up to 55 MPH.
Is this set up safe for my kind of driving?

Loud Running---L-300?? by
[email protected]
Why has my L-300 suddenly started running very loud? It seems to be
super loud on the freeway at speeds over 60. Could it be an exhaust
problem, or something? I do not think it is my tires, because I hear
the same noise while the car is at idle, only not so loud. Any help on
this problem will be...

Oil by
Bob[_18_]
On my '96 Saturn with 187,000 miles, which uses a slight amount of
oil...but runs perfectly........
is it OK to use 10W-40 motor oil?
I was figuring with all the miles and wear on the motor....the
tolerances must have widened a bit and a slightly thinker oil might be
good......
any help would be...

Noise from the front by
Roy[_1_]
98 SL1. 175,000km.
I have a noise coming from the front. It sounds almost like I'm driving
along beside a Honda with a fart can muffler. The noise gets louder and
changes tone as the car goes faster. It doesn't seem related to engine RPMs
as I have pressed the clutch and let the RPMs drop as I...

Who Killed the Electric Car? by
marx404
I just rented this movie, for those who don't know all about Saturn's EV1
project ( I didn't know much until seeing this movie and googleing for more
info) it is a definite eye opener and very informative on where alternative
powered car technology started and where it is going and especially what...

96 SC2 oil pressure problem by
njot
A friend has a 96 SC2 with 168,000 miles on it. Up to this point, the
car has had very few problems. She has owned it since new and kept up
with oil/filter changes.
However, 2 days ago, the oil light came on. Nothing really seemed to
be wrong so she kept driving. Now, it is making a tapping...

'96 SW2 sticky footfeed - but only when running? by
ouroboros rex
Hi all, I have a '96 SW2 wagon that has developed a funny sort of sticky
accelerator pedal - it has to be sort of 'pushed loose' each time (there's a
quiet 'thump') and this makes every takeoff a somewhat jackrabbit start.
It's as if the pedal is catching on a wire or something at the top of its...

'Nuther roof rack question...'03 vue by
Mike Z
'03 Vue has a factory roof rack.
Can I remove the plain screws and move the attach points to the most fore
and aft holes or is there structure missing?
I want to carry a long aluminum ladder and it would seem more secure if the
bars were further apart.
