S.
Not sure if I am looking for someone to talk me out of ...or into...
purchasing a used 2001 LW300 wagon with 98,000 miles.
My '95 SW1 w/ nearly 180K is now burning about a qt of oil every 400
miles. I did a top engine clean w/Seafoam when I disassembled the
engine back at 152K and did head gasket...

Alternator whine problem. by
navaidstech
My 92 SL1 had a whining alternator not too long ago (2-3 months). I

a little while.
However, the...

Timing Belts vs Chains by
marx404
As the Astra has a timing belt (as did the L300 V6 and the Honda-powered V6
VUE) and all other Saturs have a timing chain, I wanted to stsrt a thread on
the pros and cons of both. Both have thier vulnerabilities and good points.
Saturn belts are good for 100K mi, which is more than many out...

My 96 SL just started having electrical problems. For two days in a

die. All power zero, even the dome light out. I got it jump started,
and drove to work, and drove home that night, all is fine. Then the

Today I spent some time driving a new 2008 silver Astra XE automatic while
my ION is in the shop. I haven't really had the chance to open one up on the
highway or hit a corner hard in the country. I am pretty impressed with the

Hi. On my daughters 97 SC2 DOHC, I had her starter replaced by a shop last

cannot get under there to see exactly, but could they be related? Do you
need to remove the oil filter to get to the starter and then maybe it...

My favorite was when Colbert asked him "can I charge my Volt from the
cigarette lighter in my Hummer?"
