How to align Camshaft Position Sensor? by [email protected]
Is there any way to properly align the camshaft position sensor in a 4.2L V6 (from a 1997 F-150) without having to go out and spend $60 to $100 for a "synchro positioning tool" ??? I hate to spend that kind of money on a tool that I might never need again. TIA, john w.

Why do cars with automatic transmissions have tachometers? by TLittle
Curious as hell about this. Was taught by the parents to drive in general on a 65 Chevy with an auto tranny. Then the parents taught me to drive a stick on a 67 Dodge 3-on-the-tree Dart. None of them had a tach.

Bon-Ami for cleaning windshields by [email protected]
I read somewhere long ago that Bon-Ami scouring powder was good for cleaning automobile glass. The can even says, "Hasn't scratched yet.", with a picture of a little chick on it. So I read the directions on a can of it today and it says, "Don't use on windows or mirrors." Anyone have any...

Why were so many British cars positive earth? by Hugo Schmeisser
I did some Googling and came up with nothing. Hard to believe no one else has apparently ever asked this question. Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Anybody know? (Besides "because they were British", that is...)

Did Rain-x ruin my windshield or is it normal (how to make it better)? by Slacker[_2_]
My windshield is fine except in the morning when the dew and sunshine combine to make it impossible to see due to this naughty spotty on/off film that I just can't windshield wipe off. Even the mirrors are spotty in the morning. The rear and side windows are fine. When I was driving the neighbor's...

The SES came on yesterday when I started the car to head home from work. It was on this morning so I checked it and got P0341. Google helped me find out that I should just check the plugs and plug wires and work back from there. If the code comes back, I plan to follow these steps here...

What did Toyota know, and when did they know it? by Hachiroku
I think it's safe to say most people know I am a Toyota fan, but some of the stuff coming out in the news recently is not settling well with me. First there is the allegation that Toyota made a "deal" for a recall for floor mats that is being interpreted as a cover up for a wider problem. Now...
