'94 Acclaim -No Headlights in Freezing Weather by Gary Kaucher
The headlights on my '94 Plymouth Acclaim won't work when the outside temperature is below freezing. But they do work when the temperature rises above freezing. All the other lights and electrical components work fine regardless of the temperature. Any suggestions appreciated. Gary

92 Lexus ES300 v6 Oil Leak by sdcbh
Toyota / Lexus Techs please help... I've been working on sealing up oil leaks on a '92 es300 (3VZFE v6). So far I've replaced both front and rear value cover gaskets and distributor o-ring. Now I hope I'm down to the last leak. It is where the "?oil filter housing?" meets the block. I'm not sure...

paintless dent repair, Los Angeles by JT
Being a poor dude I bought a used Avalon from Hertz.I was happy with myself until my wife pointed out the dents I'd missed. A couple on the hood, even a blind man should have been able to see, and after his wife pointed them out, they seemed to take on a brilliant glow that caused people from miles...

2000 Grand Am 3.4 Cutting out by [email protected]
I had problems with this some time ago and there were several suggestions for the problem, first and foremost being a "dirty fuel filter" . The fuel filter was replaced, although when one understands just how fine the screen filter is on the pump it's difficult to understand how a filter this...

98 Camry Knock at Rear Wheel by spunky1
I have a knock at the passenger side rear wheel on my 98 Camry. The knock does not occur on all bumps but it sounds like something is loose or broken. I've looked underneath several times now and can't seem to locate the problem. The rear struts were replaced about 2 years ago at Sears. Any...

Coolant leak advice needed... by Pete C.
Now that it's cold and miserable to work on my truck, it's decided to start a slight coolant leak that appears to be coming from the block heater port (a.k.a. freeze plug if no block heater). It's just a modest drip and would probably not be an issue if left for warmer weather except for the fact...

poor electrical connection by [email protected]
Hello, I have all ready read other posts but I am not sure where I can buy "copper grease" or "dielectric" here in Canada so I thought I would make my own post. Last summer I replaced the windshield washer pump because the old one stopped working. When I installed the new one I couldn't get the...

Carburettor question by [email protected]
I have a Ford Festiva with a carburetted 1.3L engine. The engine needs a carb producing about 140 CFM to run it. I have no idea what the CFM the stock carburettor is rated for, but it runs the 1.3L engine fine. My plans are to replace the engine with a 1.6L engine that normally takes 170 CFM to...

Push button car starter by [email protected]
In the past few years, push button car starter appear to arrive in some car models. The Lexus GS 430, and the new IS350 has one of those. Mercedes Benz shows their new cars using a key fob. So does the new Infiniti M series. Are both technologies the same? Who (which car company) started the push...

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan - Transmission Control Module? by [email protected]
The check engine light came on in my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. I took it into the shop today (it's under a third-party warranty), and was told the "Transmission Control Module" was bad. >From my research (and I don't know much about cars, forgive me), this is a computer unit on the outside of the...

Serpentine Belt goes bad too soon. by Sam Nickaby
I've been having trouble with premature belt failure for a while and can't figure this out. The first belt that came with the car had a section of it chipped off. The belt caused a knocking sound on the pulleys and was removed. I'd checked the idler pulley and they spin smoothly. I'd installed a...
