A Solution of How to Remove Rusted Caliper Bolt by
Chris
Hello,
I had a real hard time removing the caliper bolt from my 1993 Geo Prizm
(rebadged Toyota Corolla.) It was rusted on tight. I thought sharing
my experience may help others with a similar problem. I tried the
following before the bolt was removed:
Split/cracked two chrome 6 point sockets....

navigation system by
Chris
An article highly recommended the Audiovox NPD5500, which automatically
checks traffic reports and describes the fastest route. Sounds
great... but other people have told me Audiovox is crap. Opinions?
And, BTW, does anyone know if the Audiovox has a built in tuner/CD
player?
Thanks.

Speedomoter flucuating after high speeds? by
Chris
Hello all I have a 1997 Mercury Sable and after driving at higher speeds I
have an issue where the speedometer just flucuates. If I take my foot off of
the pedal it drops completely. Then when I slow down the car is jumpy. I
believe this is due to the automatic transmission. Any suggestions?...

New brake booster question, '86 F-150 by
Chris Szilagyi
Hello,
I have an '86 F-150, rear wheel drive, manual trans, inline 6.
Recently the brake booster was hissing, so I replaced it. Lately I
have noticed the brakes feel very different.
1. When travelling 25 MPH or higher, pressing the pedal to stop more
suddenly, there is good pressure until about...

How to fix pinging? -- SOLVED, additional info by
Chris Szilagyi
I originally started a thread a while back in regards to a pinging
problem in an 86 Cutlass Ciera. I used some suggestions (spraying
water thru the carb) which at the time fixed it for a while, but
recently the problems came back. Today I did the next step which was
replacing the EGR valve, which...

98 Neon, transmission whining by
Chris Szilagyi
Hello,
I've been trying to find some more information in these groups on a
potential problem with my '98 Neon Highline (4 cyl, DOHC). Recently
about a year ago, the transmission started to make a "whining" noise
when put into reverse, both hot and cold (right away or with engine
warmed up). ...

Duratec V6, synthetic or regular oil? by
Chris Szilagyi
Hello,
I have a new 2004 Ford Escape, with the Duratec V6 3.0L. Currently
the vehicle has 1,000 miles on it, and I would like to change the oil
& filter. According to the manual, Ford recommends to use 5W-20
(Motorcraft semi-synthetic for U.S. and Motorcraft regular for
Canada). I have no idea...

Mobil 1 0W-20? by
Chris Szilagyi
Hello,
I have another thread on a similar subject, but wanted to ask a
question regarding feedback on Mobil 1 0W-20 specifically. I have a
'04 Ford Escape XLT, with a 3.0L Duratec V6 with 2700 miles. Ford
recommends Motorcraft 5W-20 semi-synthetic. It appears that Mobil 1
0W-20 is recommended...

scratch repair in clearcoat by

Hi,
There are some breakthrough products at the moment thanks to
nanotechnoloy. Mercedes apparently now have an extremely scratch
resistant clearcoat which they are now putting on cars in their
factory. It has ceramic particles incorporated. I think Dupont have
something similar which Ford are...

QUESTION: cooling system by
Christian Langis
Hi there.
My 11 years old car recently started to experience cooling system
problems. It does not overheat. The problem is, once it gets at nominal
temperature, there 'seems' to be too much pressure building up in the
system. As a result, the hoses are leaking. I have tightened the metal
clamps...

just bought a 1995 Ford Contour....mistake? by
christinakr
Hi All,
I just bought a 1995 Ford Contour and I am
afraid I might have made a big mistake. It
was (at the time) a deal I didn't want to
miss, seemed like a well taken care off car
only 70,000 miles.
After I bought it I drove it for the first
time on the highway and there it happened,
once I go over...
