I have a 200-4R tranny in a 1988 Olds and having problems with the lock-up converter. When cold for the first few miles with the selector in the D or D(O) position all is fine, but after that the converter will lock up every time it shifts into second, bogging the engine; no poop and terrible...

2000 Accord coolant drain plug location by Howard and Audrey
The shop manual for our 2000 Accord 4 cyl shows a block coolant drain plug under and to the left (facing toward) of the oil filter. But the only plugs I see are the engine oil drain plug, and a 10mm allen head bolt directly under the filter. Could it be the allen head bolt, or do some Accords...

2000 Astro Power Window problem by TomO[_1_]
I'm looking to see if anyone else has experience with a similar problem. I have a 2000 Chevy Astro with a power window that only raise one or two inches at a time. After a bit of motion, I need to let the window 'rest' for about 1 minute, then it will again raise one or two inches. This problem...

2000 Baravada ball joints replacement problems by [email protected]
I have a 2000 Bravada with bad upper and lower ball joints. We jacked the vehicle from the frame behind the door and supported it on the lower control arm. Starting first on the driver side we next removed the caliper and bracket that holds the brake pads. The caliper was tied up out of the way. We...

2000 Baravada transmission problems by [email protected]
We bought this car about a year ago with 90000 miles on it at auction. Shortly after we began driving it we began to notice a very slight vibration when backing up. I learned that there was apparently a problem with the all wheel drive on these cars and a mechanic suggested draining and refilling...

2000 Bravada ABS light by klem kedidelhopper
Short story, I've been driving for almost 50 years and I've never needed or appreciated ABS. My ABS started acting up a couple of years ago, probably due to one or more bad wheel sensors, (a known issue on these cars). I pulled the fuse, the ABS light came on and there were no more intermittent...

2000 Bravada question about changing locking rear axle oil by [email protected]
I have a 2000 Bravada that has the "hopping" problem during slow speed turns such as parking lots, etc. The transfer case fluid has been changed twice in 2.5 years, the last time being a year ago using the recommended GM fluid. The hopping has gotten worse and a GM dealer told me since I have a...

2000 Bravada question about changing transfer case fluid by [email protected]
I was told that to address the "crow hopping" issue on this car to try changing the transfer case fluid. I picked up two liters of "Autotrak 2" at the GM dealers the other day and was getting set to drain the fluid to change it this morning. I noticed on the lower passenger side of the transfer...

We bought this car with 90000 miles on it about a year ago. From the very beginning we started to notice a slight shudder when backing up. We took the car in to a friends place and he changed the blue fluid in the transfer case. He said that there was a problem with the All Wheel Drive function...

2000 Buick lesabre ABS & traction light by BLB
Brake job was done on the car. Now once the car is put in gear, and starts down the road, the ABS light comes on at the top of the gauge area, and the TRACTION OFF light comes on at the left of the gauge area. Was a code set by replacing the brake pads & rotors? If so, How do I erase it?

2000 Buick Regal CD changer socket?! by Bill Bradford
Love my 2000 Regal - never had any problems but I'm a bit puzzled right now. I've just bought a Neo iOn Ipod connector and the manual says my car is meant to have a socket for it to connect to in the trunk!! I cannot see one. I'm guessing it's meant to be an 'optional' CD changer connection but...
