Drive train noise in Jeep Liberty 4x4 by Moses
I recently acquired a 2005 Jeep Liberty, 3.7 engine 4x4. Mileage is going on 80k. I thought the noise I heard on dry pavement was due to worn rear tires but tire change didn't affect the noise. You notice a thumping noise at about 20 mph that increases in frequency and turns into a whine at...

Jeeps keep brother of Budding Serial Killer busy by Crash
Jeeps Keep Brother of a Budding Serial Killer Busy This is a true story. After graduating high school, I didn't know what to do with my life. I had a notion to attend Akron University in 1984, but that was soon squashed. Thankfully, it turns out for the good! My mother remarried in 1984 just...

Helper Springs for 98 Minivan by [email protected]
One thing I didn't like about my 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager was the soft rear suspension. With a full load of passengers it didn't sag, but would bottom easily on a bump. So I installed some Hellwig helper springs, model EZ-550, $60 plus shipping. A couple of problems- the shackles they give you...

turn signal troubleshooting by [email protected]
Hi, looking for troubleshoot advice for a turn signal problem on a 94 Shadow. The left signal does not flash, just stays on when applied. Right flashes normally. When braking or using hazards the left rear bulb dims. Last night with the park lights on the left signal indicator started staying on...

Comparable pieces? by dave
OK, bad title but I didn't know how to phrase it. I have a 1993 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan that needs new rear leaf springs. (It currently has the single leaf version and I want to upgrade to the 3 leaf version.) I plan to start scouring the bone yards this weekend. My question is, besides...

Recently my wife's 2001 300M will leave the brake lights on after the car has been turned off. To get them off all we do is restart the car and then shut the car off again. Does anyone know what part is going bad or what the fix is? Thanks. Tom

trans. dipstick says use dexron III in 89 chrysler lebaron by marks89lebaron
Just about everyone on the net claims using dexron II ATF is hazardous to a chrysler auto. transmission. Yet right from the get-go chrysler manufacturers claim that Dexron II is the preferred ATF type for (at least this one) the 1989 chrysler lebaron. So its no wonder the transmission shudders...

'94 Grand Caravan Heating Problem by Ed Wojciechowski
Well, It's like cold here in Pittsburgh and the van does not have heat. Checked all the usual things, fluid, hoses get hot, but no hot air comes out of the vents. Had to close loop the back heater, because the pipes rotted out, does this have something to do with it or is there something else?

I didn’t know cars could have SEIZURES! by kdp150
Evidently they do. I just had some work done on my 1998 Sebring (power steering fluid flush and replacement) and since then my car has been shuttering while using the break and then during initial acceleration. The engine sounds like it almost goes out then revs back up in a matter of 1-3 seconds,...

In my 1989 Dodge caravan 3.0. I have a leak that I thought first started in the central cooling tube, because that is where the majority of the coolant was coming from at the rear of the engine, And replaced the entire tube assembly. Put in more water, and it still there is water coming out of...

Anyone else have a problem with glare on top of the 300M dashboard??. Don't know if ours is a problem because someone got too happy with the Armorall or whether all of them are like that. Ours is two tone beige on the top of the dash. When the sun shines in brightly, it is a big problem. I...

source of groaning noise? by Robert Reynolds
I changed the timing belt and water pump on my 1999 voyager 2.4L. Since I got it back together I have noticed a noise that seems significantly too loud, and it sounds kind of like a power steering pump. It is definitely coming from somewhere on the engine, as it rises and falls with the...
